Renault recently announced that its 10,000th Kangoo Van Z.E. (Zero Emission) has rolled out of the manufacturing plant. Made on the same production line as the Kangoo, the Kangoo Z.E. is now the biggest selling small electric van in Europe.
The batteries are located in the centre of the van under the floor, leaving the Z.E. with plenty of room to make it equally as practical and functional as the standard Kangoo. With a 650kg load capacity and a range of 100 miles on the combined cycle - no matter what your trade, there is an electric solution.
While many tradespeople might shun the idea of an electric vehicle with worries about re-charge time and vehicle range - the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Since its launch two years ago, the Kangoo Z.E. has won its plaudits, along with some silverware in the form of the International Van of the Year Award in 2012, sales of the Kangoo Z.E. now account for almost 10% of total Kangoo van sales and it is the best-selling electric vehicle in France.
