Van buyers had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle range recently at the manufacturers' Mercedes-Benz Van Experience. Over 1800 van enthusiasts took time out of their busy schedules to see the Mercedes range including the new Sprinter, the Citan and the ever-popular Vito.
Visitors could drive and test the safety and assistance features at a number of focus stations, choosing from over 200 different vans. The off-road course proved the most popular, this included driving a selection of factory built Sprinter 4x4's and even the Sprinter 6x6 all-wheel drive by Oberaigner, seen for the first time in the UK.
Other tests included a wet-grip skid pan area, ESP lane-change and a two mile MPG marathon, where the Citan, Mercedes' new small van, achieved an amazing 99mpg, making it an instant hit with van buyers concerned with fuel economy.
Meanwhile, the new Mercedes Sprinter reinforced its reputation for class-leading innovation in safety and design by demonstrating the Sprinter in Van and Chassis Cab bodystyles, with a huge range of safety and environmental features.
The Van Experience Day was a great chance for van buyers to learn more about what Mercedes-Benz vans can offer modern businesses. If you are interested in leasing a Mercedes van but didn't make it to the Van Experience Day then you can get up to speed here
