Ford Transit Connect drivers can rest assured that, as they hit the accelerator, they are powering an award winning engine. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) chose Ford's EcoBoost engine to win its Award for Innovation 2013. Ford won this latest accolade against some stiff competition, including the Maclaren P1 supercar.
The 1-litre EcoBoost engine, fitted in the Transit Connect, amongst others, is no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper and was designed at Ford's research and development centre in Dagenham.
Commercial vehicle drivers often get bad press about polluting the environment and choking the atmosphere. The work of the van driver is essential to our growing economy. At Vanarama we are pleased to see such innovative technologies being used in the humble van - meaning van drivers, often hard working small businesses and one man bands can continue to boost the economy with the Ford Transit Connect's EcoBoost engine helping them on their (environmentally friendly) way!
