Ford came away with a hat-trick of gongs at the 2013 ACFO Awards last week, two of which were for the Ford Transit. Fleet operators voted the Transit Connect as Small Van of the Year, while its big brother the Transit scooped the Large Van of the Year title.
It's no surprise to us here at Vanarama that it's the 9th time in a row the Transit Connect Van has been voted Britain's favourite Small Van - it is certainly one of our best sellers. Meanwhile the Transit regained its top spot after being knocked off by the Mercedes Benz Sprinter for the last two years. This latest award means that the Transit has now won the Large Van of the Year title 17 times in the history of the awards.
The final award achieved by Ford is the Environmental Initiative of the Year which the company won for its EcoBoost 1.0 -litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which is due to be extended to its commercial vehicle range in due course.
