Picture the Goodwood Festival of Speed and you're probably thinking classic racers and the latest concept cars, but at Vanarama we were delighted to see the Ford Transit Supervan 3 storming up the track at Goodwood!
Admittedly, it's not your average Transit. Beneath the Transit-like fiberglass body hides supercar performance. The Ford Transit Supervan 3 is a one-off replica 1994 Ford Transit developed in the UK more than 20 years ago. It has a top speed of 150mph and is powered by a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 Ford Cosworth engine, which produces 295bhp.
The lucky driver of the eccentric Transit was x-BTCC driver Anthony Reid who said that in his 20 years of driving racing cars, the Ford Supervan 3 was by far the craziest vehicle he has driven!
Sadly we can't all get our hands on a Supervan and frankly the fuel efficiency might be off-putting once the novelty has worn off. If you are interested in some of Ford's more practical models, take a look at our Ford Transit range here.
