Dyed-in-the-wool Nissan NV200 enthusiasts used to hauling a heavy workload in their van will be able to enjoy the vehicle in taxi form when they visit the big smoke next year. In fact as early as next Summer, the Nissan NV200 taxi is due to go on sale and hit the streets of London.
The new cab, already an everyday sight in New York, has been undergoing extensive testing in the UK and the final durability phase of testing is happening right now on the city streets.
Based on the popular Nissan NV200 van, the taxi obviously has lots of modifications - being a cab - additional seats being the most evident! The taxi will seat up to four passengers with plenty of room left for luggage. Of course, it has been designed to spin on a sixpence with a small 7.6 metre turning circle. All of this is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine which runs on unleaded adding to the green credentials demanded on London's streets today.
Nissan will reveal the final look of the new cab at an event before the end of the year. In the meantime you can admire the lines of the Nissan NV200 compact van by clicking here.
