Vanarama's long-serving training provider – John Fogerty – has been appointed to the company's senior management team, responsible for the continuing development of its award-winning team.
John Fogerty said: "I am delighted to take up this new position at Vanarama – the opportunities ahead are enormous, and the responsibility to join the senior management team and lead the people development in this organisation is incredibly exciting. Over the years, Andy Alderson's vision and leadership has built the company into a leading vehicle leasing provider and a company genuinely committed to delivering for its customers and employees. I will be focused on accelerating the skills and motivation that our staff and customers need from us."
Thirty years' experience
A highly-respected training professional, John has over thirty years of automotive experience and an exceptional business development and training career. He has extensive experience of creating and delivering high impact, professional training programmes and qualifications, and has successfully trained thousands of people across eighteen countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This includes designing and delivering programmes for some of the world's biggest companies, including motor manufacturers, retail dealers and groups such as Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars, Vans & Trucks UK, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, Bosch, Renault, Volvo, Iveco, American Express, Euromoney, Barclays Capital, Sytner Group, Inchcape Retail, Vertu Motors and Peugeot Citroen Retail UK.
Previously a non-exec director and current Fellow at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), John has worked to achieve 'Approved Centre' status from the IMI for Vanarama. This means that not only are we endorsed by the leading awarding organisation for automotive learning and development, and part of a global approved centre network that gives us access to an extensive range of Qualifications and Accreditations, we are also able to create our own bespoke Vanarama Quality Assured Programmes.
Enhancing the senior management team
Vanarama CEO and founder Andy Alderson commented: "John has worked with the business since it was established in 2004, and is one of the big reasons we are so successful. As a new member of the senior management team, he will be in the perfect position to continue his important work from inside the company. The business is built on the class-leading levels of service we provide our customers – it's why people choose to do business with us – but we didn't just start providing it overnight. We learn, train and develop, and without training we wouldn't be where we are today. That's why I'm delighted to have John working in such an integral position on the senior management team."
In 2008, Prince Michael of Kent presented John with the highly commended 'Outstanding Achievers Award', and in 2010 his automotive work was recognised by the National Training Awards, the UK's most prestigious award for training and development.
