Could we see team Vanarama on the starting grid for next seasons F1 lineup?
Whilst we'd love to have an F1 Team, we're currently enjoying sponsoring the Football Conference! (#AprilFoolsDay!)
Vanarama, the country's leading supplier of commercial vehicles to Britains tradespeople have been in secret talks with F1 bosses about entering a team for the 2016/2017 season.
With the current season now in full swing and spare slots on the grid for next season the timing couldn't be better. Being current title sponsors of The Football Conference it's clear the Vanarama board have an appetite for further marketing opportunities in sports.
Having carried out extensive research in recent months into what sports Britains van drivers are most engaged with, motor sports came out tops with football and darts.
Andy Alderson, Autorama UK MD has been holding early talks with F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone about the possibility of entering a Vanarama branded team into the starting grid for 2016/2017. Talks with engine suppliers are ongoing and with the possibility of a number of high profile drivers being available at the end of the current season the dream is getting closer.
Andy Alderson said "Our brand continues to grow through our sponsorship of The Football Conference, and we expect any foray into motorsport to reach new audiences. We know our customers love F1 as much as we do so when the opportunity came up to enter talks, we jumped at the chance!"
Whilst talks are ongoing and no official announcement is imminent, it's another sign of the ambitious plans for growth at Vanarama through sports marketing.
