With Contract Hire the payments can be offset against taxable profits, therefore reducing the tax the business pays. With Lease Purchase the vehicle is classed as an asset therefore the depreciation of the vehicle can be written off against taxable profits. On a Contract Hire agreement the payments are subject to VAT and if the business is VAT registered this can be claimed back on a monthly basis. On Lease Purchase the VAT is paid as part of the deposit and can be claimed back in one go at the beginning of the agreement.
