Vanarama give their Thumbs Up for Non League Day

With help from Matt Le Tissier - legendary Southampton and England footballer we have launched Non League Day 2014, in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

Non League Day is when domestic clubs in the Premiership and Championship have a break to allow their players to play international football. This leaves supporters scratching their heads with what to do with their spare Saturday!

Non league Day raises awareness around this break in domestic football and seeks to get football fans down to support their local teams across the country.

Vanarama is pleased to be supporting this as not only are we proud sponsors of the Football Conference we are passionate about good causes, and what better way to bring two great causes together than Non league Day.

Thumbs up for Non league Day and Prostate Cancer UK

As the chosen charity of The Football Conference, Prostate Cancer UK is close to the hearts of many involved in football and the wider community. So not only are we raising awareness for Non League Day we are also laying down the gauntlet for football fans across the country to help us break a record AND raise money at the same time.

Our challenge for fans is to break the attendance record for The Football Conference, last years attendance over the same weekend was 39,000. So our challenge to football fans is simple - get yourself to a match as for every fan that attends a non league game at the weekend (Vanarama Conference, VanaramaConference South and Vanarama ConferenceNorth) we will donate 10p for every fan through the turnstiles. Based on last years attendance this would be £4000. If we meet our target of 50,000 fans Vanarama will double this, making a donation of at least £10,000 to Prostate Cancer UK.

How can YOU get involved?

The most important thing YOU can do is to get to your local Non league football club and watch the game, at the same time you'll be helping achieve our target of smashing the 50,000 attendance figure AND raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Aside from attending a game we want to SEE your support, so here's what you can do...

Have a friend take a picture of you with your thumbs up (or a selfie!) and tweet us "@vanarama I'm giving my thumbs up for Non-league Day #thumbsup4nld" - we'll retweet your thumbs up.
