Why Lease A Kia?
Kia is a South Korean car manufacturer and part of the Hyundai Motor Company. The two brands' products are closely aligned and share both components and technology. Kia, however, has its own unique design and style.
Kia has a broad range of vehicles – from compact superminis to family-sized SUVs, all offering a blend of practicality and affordability. Discover the range and our best Kia car leasing deals here and order online today.
Which Kia Cars Can I Lease?
The Picanto city car has been around since 2004, but the current 3rd-generation has evolved into a very impressive supermini with great interior quality and a boot.
If you need a bit more space for rear passengers, or perhaps a pair of baby seats, the Rio hatchback may be a better option. It’s up against some strong rivals such as the Ford Fiesta and VW Polo – but the interior materials wouldn’t look out of place in a far more expensive car.
For even more room for the family, midsize family cars like Kia’s Ceed remain popular vehicles to lease. The Ceed offers a very well-built and upmarket interior, and more space than most inside. The Proceed fastback has the same basic interior layout, but the coupe-like 5-door body style gives it a sportier look.
Kia’s SUVs cover just about every base too, starting with the compact Stonic. It’s based on the popular Hyundai Kona and comes with a range of customisable options to set it apart from its rivals like the SEAT Arona and VW T-Roc.
There is also the XCeed, which is based on the Ceed Hatchback. It’s slightly larger in every direction, with a raised ride height providing a commanding view of the road.
The midsized Kia Sportage SUV remains a hugely popular lease option and is often pitched against the Nissan Qashqai.
The Kia Sorento is Kia’s range-topping large SUV. It seats seven and comes with three engine options. There’s a 230hp 1.6-litre turbocharged self-charging hybrid, 265hp Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) and a 201hp 2.2-litre turbo diesel.
The Kia model that offers the most impressive combination of luxury and performance is the 5-door fastback Stinger.
Kia Hybrid And Electric Models
The Kia range has a number of impressive hybrid and purely electric options.
The 48-volt mild-hybrid set-up consists of a small electric motor that provides a small boost to the petrol or diesel engine. The self-charging hybrid option (as used in the Niro and Sorento) allows for a few miles of all-electric driving, thanks to a slightly larger battery pack. Both systems recharge their batteries through regenerative braking.
The plug-in hybrids have larger electric motors and battery packs – currently, the XCeed, Niro, and Sorento are offered as PHEVs. These models can travel between 30 and 39 miles on battery power, but need to be plugged in to recharge.
There are three fully electric vehicles currently on offer. These are the Kia Niro, formerly the E-Niro,, the Soul EV and the recently released EV6. You can get a claimed 180 miles out of the smaller battery or 282 miles from the larger one, both competitive with rivals.
