Why Lease A Jaguar?
Part of the Jaguar Land Rover group, the manufacturer builds luxury saloons, dynamically capable SUVs and some glorious sports cars – not to mention a cutting-edge electric vehicle in the form of the I-PACE. Models including the F-PACE, F-TYPE and XF have helped to make Jaguars some of the most desirable car leasing options.
Jaguar has a long and illustrious history. After building legendary cars such as the E-Type and Mk2, the company has become an established and very British premium brand.
The German brands provide Jaguar’s stiffest competition. BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz are all churning out direct rivals that give equivalent Jaguars some serious food for thought. Each German marque has its own talent – BMW is known for its handling, while Mercedes-Benz is all about comfort – and that gives them all a different character. Jaguar’s philosophy makes BMW its nearest competitor.
But the company also faces challenges from elsewhere. Volvo and Lexus are both building some great premium models, as is new-on-the-scene Genesis. And when you look at Jaguar’s I-PACE electric SUV and F-TYPE sports car, the company is up against the likes of Porsche, Tesla and even Aston Martin.
The Jaguar Range
Vanarama offers amazing car leasing deals across the Jaguar range. The company, which is part of the Jaguar Land Rover group, has a wide scope of different vehicles – including 3 capable SUVs, an electric car and a high-performance sports car. The naming system is a little haphazard at first, but the further through the alphabet the letters are, the bigger the car will generally be. Vehicles with the ‘PACE’ suffix are SUVs, while cars with the ‘TYPE’ suffix are sports cars.
Every engine is given a letter denoting its fuel type – P for petrol, D for diesel and EV for electric – and a number that indicates the power output. So, the P300 is a bang-on 300hp petrol engine, while the D165 is a 163hp diesel. The stunning I-PACE) EV400 is a 400hp electric car.
There is just 1 sports car in the range at present, the fabulous F-TYPE, but it’s available in a choice of body shapes – a hardtop Coupe or open-roof Convertible. Power comes from a choice of a high-powered 2.0-litre petrol turbocharged engine or an even more forceful 5.0-litre V8 supercharged unit.
The conventional body of the range is made up of stylish saloon cars, such as the more compact XE. Built to compete with the brilliant BMW 3 Series, the XE is a dynamically capable and good-looking executive saloon. It’s joined by the larger XF, which is available as a 4-door saloon or a glorious 5-door ‘Sportbrake’ estate.
But it’s the SUVs that are among the most desirable and successful models in the range. The compact E-PACE sits beneath the graceful F-PACE in the range, with the latter providing a slightly sportier feel despite its bulk. The incredible I-PACE is the brand’s sole electric car, offering breathtaking performance and a long zero-emission range.
Although most of the cars in Jaguar’s line-up use petrol or diesel power, electrification plays a role across the range. Jaguar has introduced mild-hybrid engines in many models, while plug-in hybrid technology is also available. More electric vehicles are to be expected in the coming years.
