If car maintenance and servicing expenses are important to you, they are available as an optional extra that can be added to your lease deal. Once your lease deal ends, you simply return the car.Choosing a BMW X3 business lease means you can reclaim 100% of the VAT on your lease deal, providing your company is eligible to do so.To find out more about how contract hire works, take a look at our easy-to-understand guide to car leasing.
BMW X3 Interior
BMW X3 Driving Experience
The BMW X3 has grown in size for the Mk3, which translates into plenty of space in the cabin for up to 5 occupants and 550 litres of boot space with the rear seats up. The total luggage area is a generous 1,600 litres, which is not quite as spacious as you get in the slightly larger Jaguar F-PACE and Land Rover Discovery Sport but matches both the Q5 and GLC. There is no 7-seat option here, though, like you get in the Discovery Sport.
Generously proportioned cupholders are integrated into the centre console and the door bins can take large bottles, too. Passengers in the rear get big door bins and the folding rear armrest houses 2 more cupholders.
Efficient petrol and diesel engines give the BMW X3 impressive fuel economy figures. The 190hp 4-cylinder diesel does 47.9mpg, while the 286hp 6-cylinder diesel is not far behind at 45.6mpg. Both have mild-hybrid tech, which helps to improve the economy figures and offers an additional 11hp during more meaningful acceleration.
The 2.0-litre petrol manages a combined 36.7mpg, but if you want the best on-paper economy then the xDrive30e plug-in hybrid adds a 109hp electric motor to this same 4-cylinder engine to deliver a claimed 148.7mpg. This figure will vary greatly depending on how much of your commute takes advantage of the 31 miles of all-electric range.
Aside from fuel, running costs should be limited to basic servicing and consumables during your lease. BMW offers a 3-year warranty on all new vehicles and the plug-in-hybrid comes with an additional 6-year, 60,000-mile warranty on the battery pack.
BMW X3 Models Available To Lease
X3 SUVThe X3 is available in the traditional SUV body style. It has seating for 5 – the rear-centre seat is a bit more cramped than the outer 2, though – and up to 1,600 litres of luggage space with the second row of seats folded down.
High-Performance ModelsThe M Performance models consist of the petrol-powered 360hp M40i (31.4mpg) and diesel M40d (43.5mpg). Both offer similarly strong performance figures, with the 0-62mph dash taking slightly less than 5 seconds. The range-topping 510hp X3 M Competition is the one to have if you prefer that figure to be closer to the 4-second mark. Just make sure you are happy with the 24.8mpg combined fuel economy.
