LEVC’s history began in 1908 when the first dedicated black cab was specially designed and commissioned for use in London. With its unmistakable silhouette and classic design cues, this iconic British vehicle has defined the company for over a century. In 2018, LEVC introduced its latest taxi model, the electric TX. TX is world’s cleanest, most advanced taxi ever, powered by LEVC’s revolutionary eCity technology.
LEVC manufactures its purpose-built, range extended electric TX taxi and TX shuttle models at a state-of-the-art factory in Ansty, Coventry. Since 2014, Geely has invested more than £500m into LEVC, allowing it to build an entirely new eco-friendly manufacturing facility, the UK’s first dedicated to the production of electric vehicles.
In November 2020, LEVC started production of its first non-taxi model with the launch of VN5, a medium-sized electric van. Utilising the same eCity technology as TX, VN5 offers both zero-emission capability and zero range anxiety, a critical combination for commercial vehicle operators.

Electric Drive, No Range Anxiety
With a fully electric powertrain, innovative eCity technology in VN5 offers true zero-emissions capability, while at the same time eliminating range-anxiety. The electric motor always drives the rear wheels, and with a total flexible range of 304 miles, and over 60 miles* pure electric range, operates can enjoy electric drive with no range-anxiety. Naturally, the powertrain in VN5 is Euro 6 compatible.
The VN5 is proud to be British built and source 89% of all parts from Britain.
Its aluminium body is 30% lighter than traditional steel and is completely recyclable. But that doesn’t mean that the VN5 isn’t built to last. With a 5-year vehicle warranty and an 8-year battery warranty you can be confident.
Built at a purpose-built site in Coventry using sustainable technology such as water recirculation and generating power from photovoltaic panels. Don’t just take our word for it. External assessors BREEAM gave us an ‘excellent’ sustainable rating.
The VN5 has safety at its heart with forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking (AEBS) vulnerable road user (VRU) protection and stability control all fitted as standard.
A sector leading turning circle of 10.1m makes the VN5 the ultimate in manoeuvrability. And with both rear and side doors and the ability to carry an 830kg payload, its workhorse credentials are assured.
But it’s the internal features that make the VN5 the driver’s choice, with climate and cruise control, a 9” touchscreen and Bluetooth compatibility all as standard.
Regenerative braking uses the vans own energy to charge the battery and boost efficiency. But when you do need to recharge, multiple charge socket technologies, mean you always have ‘the right’ charger. The onboard charging system can replenish the battery from 0 to 100% in around 30 minutes*.
All this, alongside integrated telematics, allowing you to monitor driving performance, optimise journeys and even use geo fencing to automatically switch to electric power in Clean Air zones – avoiding those emission charges!
With three trim levels and a whole range of colour choices, there’s a VN5 to meet your needs.
