About Land Rover
Land Rover is one of Britain’s most famous automotive companies, with a long and enviable history of creating off-road cars. Once focused on utilitarian working vehicles, it’s now one of the world’s top luxury brands, creating vehicles that will match just about anything for quality and comfort. Today, the company is part of Jaguar Land Rover, which was formed in 2013.
Modern Land Rovers are all SUVs, reflecting the brand’s off-road heritage, but they vary in size and leasing costs, from the relatively compact and affordable Evoque to the flagship Range Rover. With a relatively wide spread of products, Land Rover counts various premium brands as its main competitors, from Bentley and Porsche to Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW.

The Range Of Land Rover Cars
The Land Rover product line-up can be broadly split into 3 families. There’s the Range Rover family, which encompases 4 different models. Then there’s the Discovery family, which has 2 different cars, and finally the Defender family, which right now has just 1 car. But within each of these models there are plenty of choices of body style, trim, and engine. The company may only make SUVs, but nobody can complain that it doesn’t offer a huge amount of choice.
Land Rover offers a range of petrol and diesel engines across its model lines, most of which have mild-hybrid tech to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. However, it’s increasing its offering of plug-in hybrid powertrains as well, and full electric models are in development, too. Almost all current models have automatic gearboxes, which fits in with the comfort-orientated character of the cars.
There are several trim lines in each model, which generally focus either on style or an element of sportiness to the look. However, Land Rover also has a division called SVO, or Special Vehicle Operations. This develops more exclusive vehicles that usually feature extra power and a more exciting driving experience.
