Benefits Of Leasing A Vauxhall Grandland
Why Lease A Vauxhall Grandland?
Leasing a Grandland puts you right in the heart of the most fashionable and in-demand corner of the car market right now, and does so for a price that’s quite a bit lower than that of many rivals. The Grandland is a roomy and well-made family car, and Vanarama can tailor your lease precisely to your requirements, from monthly repayments to up-front deposits. And you can choose to hand back the car after 2-5 years. To find out more about how contract hire works, take a look at our easy-to-understand guide to car leasing.Inside The Vauxhall Grandland
The Vauxhall Grandland Driving Experience
The entry-level engine for the Vauxhall Grandland is the 1.2-litre, 130hp 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit. That might not sound like quite enough of an engine for a roomy family car such as this, but in fact it’s very impressive and has plenty of power. It’s also very economical, capable of exceeding 45mpg when driven gently.
For drivers who do regular long journeys, Vauxhall still offers a diesel option, which is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine. That also has 130hp and returns very good fuel economy – 54.3mpg on the official combined cycle. The diesel engine comes only with an automatic gearbox, which is an optional extra for the petrol version.
At the top of the range is the 225hp plug-in hybrid. It uses a combination of a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a rechargeable battery. On a full charge, the Grandland Hybrid-E has an official range of 39 miles, which should be enough for most daily commutes. It also has impressively low emissions – as low as 31g/km.
In the front of the Grandland, there are plenty of practical touches including 2 cupholders that convert into a flat storage tray, and another lidded storage tray just under the heating and air-conditioning controls. The door pockets are also large, capable of holding 2.6 litres each, while the glovebox is a decent size as well.
The Grandland’s back seats are very roomy, with plenty of leg- and headroom for growing families. The rear seat is just about wide enough to allow 3 people to get comfortable. In the back, there’s an especially useful 513-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1652 litres by folding down the back seats. Do that and the boot floor is flat all the way through. For towing purposes, the Grandland can handle a maximum trailer weight of 1400kg.

The Grandland is in one of the busiest and most competitive sectors of the car market right now, so there’s no shortage of competition. The biggest rival for it is probably the immensely popular Nissan Qashqai, which comes with sharp styling and a roomy interior, but which doesn’t have the broad engine line-up of the Vauxhall.
The Peugeot 3008 and Citroen C5 Aircross are close competitors, not least because they share a common chassis and engines with the Vauxhall. The Peugeot is a little sportier to drive than the Grandland, while the Citroen is more comfort-oriented, but the Grandland strikes a good compromise between the 2 and it’s cheaper to lease than either, which is a significant consideration.
Finally, there’s the 2 Korean rivals – the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson, both of which offer an even broader engine line-up, but which are quite a bit more expensive to lease than the Vauxhall.
Yes. The Grandland’s engines have been around for a few years now and are not known for giving much trouble. All Vauxhalls come with a 3-year, 60,000-mile warranty, and the Hybrid-E models come with an additional 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty.
The Grandland’s boot measures 513 litres up to the luggage cover and expands to 1652 litres with the back seats folded. The Hybrid-E has a smaller 390-litre boot, because of the need to package the rechargeable battery pack.
Yes. Basic Design models come with rear sensors and a wide-angle reversing camera. Ultimate models come with a 360-degree parking camera.
It’s a very practical family car with a big boot, roomy back seats and plenty of storage space dotted around the cabin.
The Grandland’s popularity is easy to explain – it’s a solid and well-priced product from a familiar and trusted brand. On top of that, it’s practical, good to drive and really very handsome.
