Hi. Within your quotation costs, what does monthly maintenance cost (optional) mean please?

Our expert Gary answered... Hi Rachel, thanks for your question. If you take a van using contract hire, you can choose to add a maintenance package to your monthly payments. This is optional, but it gives you an even more comprehensive and fixed cost solution. Maintenance packages will typically include all routine services, tyres, and anything needed to cover fair wear and tear such as bulbs and wiper blades. Hope that helps.

Am I right in thinking that as a new van a MOT isn't required for the first 3 years? Also, can I add on certain specs to the vehicle that I am about to order?

Our expert Richard answered... Hello Bradley, thanks for your question. With regards to your question, the answer is yes to both. The mot on all new vehicles is not required until the 3rd year, and we can order your vehicle with whatever options you require, please let the sales team know and we can run over all of the options. Please contact the sales team on 01442 838193 so we can discuss the options in greater detail. What are the optional maintenance services, and do I really need it?

Our expert Richard answered... Hi Nick, thank you for your question. During the lease you will have to maintain the vehicle yourself, this will include all servicing, MOTs, tyres, and much more. The maintenance contract allows you to pay a fixed monthly cost which covers near enough everything you need, with this in place all you need to do is fill the vehicle up and insure it. A lot of our customers prefer this option, as its all accounted for and they have no nasty surprises. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

What is the rough cost of a service and maintenance pack?

Our expert Richard answered... Hello, thank you for getting in touch. Our prices depend on many different factors so it's always tricky to give a price over email without asking a few questions. The price can changed depending on which contract you chose, the duration of the contract, the model, initial rental, accessories and mileage. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact one of our specialists direct on 01442 838193 who will be able to find the very best quote for your circumstances. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

We have leased a Ford Mini Bus from Vanarama but the nearest recognised ford dealer is 20 miles away as we operate the minibus 5 days a week between 8am to 6pm. It is very difficult to arrange maintenance. We do use a local garage but he is not on fords list. Can you advise?

Our expert Richard answered... Hello Matt, thanks for your question. As long as the garage is a VAT Registered garage and they use genuine Ford parts, then they will be able to maintain the vehicle.Thank you,Richard Wells

Hi, with contract hire are all mechanical faults and vehicle service included in contract?

Our expert Rob answered... Hi Jeff, thanks for your question. contract hire is one of our most popular contracts, due to the low deposit options, fixed cost motoring, steady cash flow and no risk of depreciation. All our vehicles are new vehicles and come with the standard manufacturer's warranty typically this is between 3 & 5 years depending on the manufacturer. If you have any issues with the vehicle in the warranty period this will often be covered by the manufacturer but we always recommend checking this before the vehicle is booked in with the dealer. With contract hire, you have the option to include a maintenance package for an additional low monthly fee. This will cover you for tyres, routine maintenance, servicing and any MOT that falls within the contract duration. Kind regards, Rob Cox.

Do you offer maintenance and servicing included in the contract? Or is it self maintained by the person taking the lease?

Our expert Rob answered... Hi Chris, thanks for your question. We do offer a maintenance contract with all of our lease agreements, in fact we recommend it. It's a great way to lease a vehicle and spreading the cost of servicing over the term of the agreement. The cost will depend on the vehicle, type of contract and term the agreement is over. It's a great way to avoid large servicing costs and help budget for a new vehicle. Kind regards, Rob Cox.

I leased a van 5 weeks ago but there's a constant squeaking behind the dashboard and the pause button is stuck on so my iPod won't play. Am I covered under Ford's warranty and how do I get this fixed? Many thanks.

Our expert Mike answered... Hi Steve, thanks for getting in touch. As your Van is only a few weeks old you can take it to the nearest dealership to you and they will be able to look in to these issues. The vehicle will have a 3 year manufacturer's warranty which allows you to take it to any main dealer. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact one of our specialists direct on 01442 838 195. Kind regards, Mike Daly.

Hello there, I am interested in contactHire on a Vauxhall Vivaro but I have a few questions. I am based in north Cornwall and when the van would be due for service/mot etc what garage would be used ? If the van was involved in a crash and was a total right off what charges would I be liable for? Would the van be delivered to me and is there a cost for delivery and time scale for delivery? Many kind regards, Nick.

Our expert Mike answered... Hi Nick, thanks very much for leaving your question on our website. In regards to servicing the vehicle, this would depend on if you were to take a maintenance package with the contract. If you were to take the maintenance option, when the service is due you would need to contact the lease company on the number provided and they will arrange the service on your behalf with the nearest approved garage to you. If you decided not to take the maintenance package, you would need to arrange the servicing yourself. You are not restricted to a main dealer for the service, you could take the vehicle to any independent garage providing they are VAT registered and that they use genuine Vauxhall parts. If the vehicle was involved in an accident and the result ended up in the vehicle being written off your insurance company would pay you the market value for the vehicle at that time. If there is a difference between what your insurance company would pay you and the outstanding amount that is left on the agreement (this will of course depend on how far through the contract you are) then that shortfall would need to be settled by yourself. However, there is an additional insurance product that will protect you from any shortfall in that situation which we will be happy to discuss with you. In regards to delivery Nick, we offer a free of charge delivery to anywhere in mainland UK. The delivery time will depend on the specification of the vehicle you require and of course if it is a SWB or LWB and your colour choice. If you would like to discuss any of these details in further detail Nick, please let us know the best contact number for you and also a convenient time for one of specialists to contact you direct. Thanks again for your leaving your question. Kind regards, Mike Daly.

Will I be informed when the vehicle is due for a service?

Our expert Mike answered... Hi Michael, thanks for posting your question. You won't be contacted to tell you your vehicle is due for a service, however, you can refer to the service book or call us and we can advise of the manufacturers service intervals. Kind regards, Mike Daly.

Hi, I'm self employed and not VAT registered. I'm looking to lease a van. I was wondering if there are options for the maintenance of the van, eg. new tyres, MOT? Also, do we cover the insurance or is that through yourself?

Our expert Mike answered... Hi David, thank you very much for leaving your question on our website. If you are looking at a fully maintained package then there are two options available to you. The first option would be a contract hire, where you can have the lease from 2 years as a minimum, up to a maximum term of 5 years. The monthly rentals will be calculated by the annual mileage you do and of course the type of vehicle you are considering. At the end of the term the vehicle is simply returned back to the lease company. The second option is a Contract Purchase. Again, with this type of contract you can lease the vehicle from a minimum term of 2 years up to a maximum term of 5 years. The difference is that with a Contract Purchase you will need to put the full amount of the VAT up front and also at the end of term there is an optional final payment. With this you are able to pay the final payment and gain ownership, or you can hand the vehicle back and walk away, or you can part exchange the vehicle for something new. If you would like to discuss these options in further detail David, please let us know what the best contact number for you is and also when would be a convenient time for one of our specialists to contact you direct. Many thanks once again for your question. Kind regards, Mike Daly.

If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact any of our specialist direct on 01442 838193 so we can discuss the options in greater detail. Alternatively you can drop me an email with your contact details and I'll make sure one of my team give you a call. Kind regards, Mike.

6 months into leasing a van from you the van broke down with a dangerous fuel leak, its being with Vauxhall now for 2 weeks and still they haven't ordered the part due to a back log, do I still need to pay the lease as I don't have the van? The manufacturer's have it and I'm unable to work to cover the lease, there is no eta on the repair let alone the part being delivered.

Our expert Joanne answered... Hi, you will still need to pay the monthly payment however because the vehicle is in warranty we are still able to approach the manufacturer for alternative transport. Please contact a member of the Customer Service team on 01442 838 192 to discuss this further.Kind regards,Joanne Wilkinson Customer Service Team Leader

hi iHired a van from you a year ago it would be due its first service.Do you tell me when it needs serviced and where to book it in or do i just arrange this myself many thanks.

Our expert Gary answered... Hi William, Thank you for your question. You can take your van to any reputable garage that is VAT registered. The garage must use approved parts only. You do not need to travel miles, if you have a local garage that fits this criteria. The service is depending on the mileage of the vehicle in most cases, so it's up to you to service it as and when. Thank you. Kind regards, Tony Gordon.

Our expert Mike answered... Hello Andy, thank you for leaving your question on our website. Yes, you can service your van at any independent garage providing they are VAT registered and use genuine manufacturer parts for the service. Doing it this way will keep the warranty in validation for you. If we can help you further Andy please contact any of our specialists on 01442 838193. Thanks again for your question. Kind regards, Mike Daly.

Are tyres covered under the car leasing agreement if you add the maintenance cover and if so is there a limit in any one year?

Our expert Rob answered... Hi, the majority of our finance companies will include tyre replacement if you take out the maintenance option with the lease company. Most lease companies we use will replace tyres at 2mm tread depth as opposed to 1.6mm - the legal limit. Damaged tyres are also included in the maintenance package (except vandalised or stolen tyres).Kind regards,Rob CoxStock Control Manager

I lease a van from you now just wondering if I am responsible for servicing and tyres etc? Thanks Gary

Our expert Richard answered... Hello Gary, thank you for getting in touch. When you lease a vehicle the servicing and upkeep is up to yourself, however, we do offer a package called ServicePlus which you can pay for monthly alongside the lease, this would cover you for all of your servicing and MOTs, it will also cover you for brakes, bulb wipers and much more.  We can also service your vehicle at your home or work address which will save you taking a day off work and being without a vehicle. Hi I have a van with yourselves and its due to be serviced, can i ask what the what the lease states about servicing? Many thanks, Paul

Our expert Richard answered... Hi Paul, thank you for leaving your question on the site. If you have a fully maintained contract please get in touch with either ourselves or the finance company who will arrange for the vehicle to be serviced. Alternatively, if you decided to maintain the vehicle yourself, all the finance company would require is that you use an authorised service centre. The service centre needs to be a VAT registered garage, who use genuine manufacturers parts. This is to keep the warranty valid. Thank you. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

Do I have to get my vehicle serviced at a main dealer?

Our expert Mike answered... Hello Mark, thanks for your question. In regards to the service and maintenance, although it is not part of a standard contract, we are able to offer you a package which is called Service Plus. This will cover you for all routine services, mechanical repairs, replacement tires, MOT if required & also replacement brakes, wiper blades, and bulbs which will be subject to fair wear and tear. The additional cost will depend on the annual mileage you are doing and also how long you decide to take the contract over. Hi just a few questions how much would it cost for a personal lease on a ford transit custom limited. For a 48 month period. Would it have warranty etc for the full 48 month period? Is it available in the iron grey colour? How longs the wait time on the vehicle? And when does the first payment come out? Thanks.

Our expert Mike answered... Hi Dom, thanks for getting in touch. If you were to take a personal lease out for a Ford Transit Custom over a 48 month period, the warranty of the vehicle would be for 3 years as set by the manufacturer. However what Vanarama will include for you is what's called Total Lease Care which will cover you for full breakdown and recovery for the 48 month period as well as a replacement vehicle for up to 7 days if your vehicle is off the road for 24 hrs plus. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact any of our specialist direct on 01442 838193 so we can discuss the options in greater detail. Alternatively you can drop me an email with your contact details and I'll make sure one of my team give you a call. Kind regards, Mike.

I am approaching the end of the first year of my lease, regarding servicing does this need to be completed at the dealer? Also I have a three year lease will I have to service the car the first, second and third year just prior to handing it back?

Our expert Rob answered... Hello Michael, thanks for your question. As part of your contract with the lease company, it would be required to have the vehicle serviced to the manufacturer guidelines. These do vary depending on what vehicle you have. I would recommend contacting one of our specialists on 01442 838195 who will advise when your vehicle's next service will be. Alternatively, you can book your vehicle into your local dealer as well getting the vehicle serviced at any VAT registered garage as long as they use approved manufacturer parts. Kind regards, Rob Cox.

I'm just over a year into my lease on a Transit Custom with you. Does the annual service have to be done by a Ford main dealer?

Our expert Mike answered... Hi Justin, thank you for leaving your question on our website. Your service can be carried out by any independent service centre. The only requirements are that  they are VAT registered and of course that they use genuine Ford parts. I hope that helps Justin and if there is anything else we can help you with then please let us know. Thanks again for your question.Kind regards, Mike Daly.

Hi I am probably looking to lease a van. Is the service, mot, tyres etc included with the service?

Our expert Rob answered... Hi Sundeep thanks for your question. In order for us to give you the best possible advice I would suggest that we arrange a convenient time to contact you to discuss all options available for you and to help you make the best decision for you and your business. Some questions I would suggest you need to think about would be: How long would you want to keep the vehicle for? Our leasing periods can be from 2 years to 5 years. What budget do you have? There is very little difference between small, medium or large vans in monthly payments. So try to go for as big as you can, as you wouldn't want to turn any work down because your van is not big enough. What mileage would you cover each year? Lease payments are calculated on mileage. We recommend that you should be as realistic as possible on what mileage you will do.What do you want to happen at the end of the contract? For instance, would you want to return the vehicle, sell the vehicle and benefit from any equity, or keep it?What initial payment would you be comfortable with? Typically, most of our customers find that their initial payment is equivalent to 3 rentals in advance but depending on circumstances, it could be as low as 1 rental in advance. We can arrange, if required, for your new van to have a wide variety of accessories fitted, from roof bars to full roof racks, ply lining, tow bars and rear parking sensors. I hope this helps and please let us know when it's best to speak to you. Kind regards, Rob Cox.

I have had particularly bad luck with cars. If I lease from you and there are problems with it where it needs to go to a dealer or manufacturer to be looked at and repaired, will I be given a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repair?

Our expert Richard answered... Hi Matt, thank you for getting in touch. All of our vehicles are delivered direct from the main dealer with a full manufacturer warranty so if you should have any issues with the vehicle and it is still within the warranty you can take the vehicle direct to your main dealer, we have a dedicated support team who are always available to help should you have any issues and in regards to replacement vehicles we offer an upgraded RAC package which for very little money will give you a replacement vehicle should your van be off the road.  Please speak to one of the sales team who can explain all of the T & C's. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

Do your prices include vehicle service, maintenance and/or insurance?

Our expert Mike answered... Hi Anish, thanks very much for leaving your question on our website. The advertised prices will not include service, maintenance or insurance. In regards to insurance this will be something you need to have in place, however we now offer van insurance, please give us a call on 01442 838173 to speak to our dedicated team & get a tailored quote. In regards to the service and maintenance, although it is not part of a standard contract, we are able to offer you a package which is call Service Plus. This will cover you for all routine services, mechanical repairs, replacement tyres, MOT if required & also replacement brakes, wiper blades and bulbs which will be subject to fair wear and tear. The additional cost will depend on the annual mileage you are doing and also how long you decide to take the contract over.
