BMW X1 Leasing

A dynamically capable and luxurious SUV, the BMW X1 brings the marque’s traditionally sporty driving traits to the small SUV segment. Understated exterior styling combines with a practical and spacious interior, making the X1 as useful to live with as it is fun to drive. For a thoroughly capable vehicle that makes trading in your sporty saloon for a family-friendly SUV a delight rather than a chore, the BMW X1 is a great leasing choice.

Top 3 Features

Unfussy exterior and interior design.

Thoroughly capable dynamics.

Spacious, well-built interior.

  • The X1 offers decent interior space for 4 adults, with the usual caveat that adding a 5th occupant makes for a tight rear row. This is no different from the rest of the class and the X1 is actually a bit more spacious than average when it comes to boot space. It handily stores more cargo than the Volvo XC40 and Audi Q3, as well as Mercedes-Benz GLA. Handy cupholders in the centre console and door bins can also double as storage space for smaller items. A small cubby by the driver’s knee and another between the front seats make for the perfect place to keep mobile phones and wallets.

  • The BMW X1 range can be had with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines. The plug-in hybrid is the economy champ with a 156.9mpg claimed consumption figure and a low 11% benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax band. If your commute won’t regularly capitalise on the 32 miles of all-electric range, then one of the diesels would be a better fit. Both offer between 50-55mpg, while the petrol variants are closer to 43mpg on average.

Models Available

BMW X1 SUV

The BMW X1 is offered as a 5-door compact SUV. The mechanically similar BMW X2 is a coupe-style variant.

Trim Levels

SESportxLineM SportBase SE trim models come with 17-inch alloys, cloth upholstery, an 8.8-inch infotainment system and silver interior trim. Options include a panoramic sunroof, large infotainment set-up, leather upholstery, Comfort Access, and numerous tech and comfort extras. It’s worth bearing in mind that ticking too many boxes can quickly inflate the base price.

The BMW X1 Vs Competitors

The BMW X1 squares up to other premium competitors like the Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3. It offers strong competition thanks to great handling, plenty of interior space and a high-quality feel.Rivals like the Jaguar E-Pace offer similar dynamics, while the Range Rover Evoque and Volvo XC40 remain the style leaders. With so many worthy options to consider, the impressive BMW X1 still makes a lot of sense for those looking to lease an unassuming but thoroughly competent luxury SUV.
  • Both independent surveys and owner’s comments have shown the BMW X1 to be a reliable and solidly built vehicle. All new BMWs come with a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty for added peace of mind during your lease.

  • The BMW X1 offers 505 litres of boot space with the rear seats in place. The plug-in hybrid X1 comes in slightly lower, at 450 litres. Fold the back row flat and you get 1550 litres. That is better than any of its main rivals like the Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3.

  • The BMW X1 can be specced in 4 trims, the main changes being unique interior finishes, sportier front seats and subtle exterior differences. The M Sport trim adds M Sport suspension and unique interior accents. The xLine trim is the ideal blend between luxury and sportiness, although in all cases adding too many options can easily inflate the price.

  • Every BMW X1 comes equipped with front and rear parking sensors, as well as a reversing camera. Advanced parking and driving assists are also available.

  • The base price of the BMW X1 is extremely competitive compared to many rivals. It is worth bearing in mind, though, that many desirable features, and most of the advanced safety and driving aids, will cost you extra. For the most cost-effective leasing option, try to stick to the essentials.

  • Offering the traditionally sharp and engaging BMW driving experience, the X1 also has plenty of interior space, and a range of punchy and economical engines. Capable in a variety of situations, the BMW X1 is a very popular luxury SUV to lease.

  • Leasing a BMW X1 with Vanarama is the smartest way to upgrade what you drive. Not only will you get the best price, guaranteed with our Price Promise*, there’s also no hidden fees, extra protection should the worst happen and access to expert advice when you need it!
