Cupra Ateca Leasing

The Cupra Ateca is a sporty, standalone version of the excellent SEAT Ateca SUV. It packs a powerful turbocharged petrol engine, all-wheel drive, a quick-shifting dual-clutch automatic gearbox and lots of equipment. It’s also more distinctive than the regular Ateca, thanks to Cupra badging, cosmetic upgrades and a host of interior tweaks. It’s more expensive than the standard Ateca, but less so than some other all-wheel-drive alternatives. If you’re looking for a hot yet practical SUV, then it’s well worth considering.

Top 3 Features

Quick, capable and gratifying to drive.

Comfortable, practical and spacious interior.

Lots of standard equipment, even in entry-level form.

  • This is definitely a performance-oriented SUV, but there aren’t any compromises in terms of interior space and practicality – it’s just like a regular Ateca on those fronts. Everything is sensibly laid-out and easy to understand, and there’s plenty of room. Taller passengers will even be comfortable in the back seats, and there’s just room enough in the rear for 3 adults.

The all-wheel-drive Cupra Ateca also serves up the same 485-litre boot as all-wheel-drive regular Atecas. That’s more than you get in some rivals, which could make the Ateca more appealing to those regularly carrying lots of luggage. Split-folding rear seats are also standard, upping the Cupra Ateca’s practicality even more.

  • Compared to a standard Ateca, the Cupra Ateca will cost you more to run. However, if you consider the performance on offer and compare it to similarly quick alternatives, its fuel economy and costs aren’t excessive. An average fuel economy of up to 31.7mpg is claimed, and that’s the same as the Volkswagen T-Roc R

The Cupra Ateca also comes with a conventional 3-year/60,000-mile warranty, while extended warranties and fixed-price service plans are available to further help keep costs in check. SEAT itself has a good reputation for reliability, as does the Ateca, so significant problems should be rare.

Models Available

Cupra Ateca SUV

The Cupra Ateca is a sporty and more upmarket version of the standard SEAT Ateca SUV. The Cupra model has the same 5-door body and seating for 5, but it comes with a powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, all-wheel drive and a rapid-shifting 7-speed automatic gearbox. It also gets bespoke cosmetic and interior details, as well as lots of extra kit.

Trim Levels

Trim levels available: VZ1, VZ2, VZ3.The Cupra Ateca isn’t as expensive as some alternatives, but it still comes with lots of equipment as standard. The entry-level VZ1 model is stacked with technology and its features include LED lights, electric heated folding mirrors, a heated steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, voice control, DAB, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and wireless phone charging.

The Cupra Ateca Vs Competitors

There’s lots of choice in the midsized SUV market – even if you want something a bit more distinctive and powerful. You could go for something from the Audi Q2 range or a BMW X2, if you fancy something with a more premium and easily recognised badge, or otherwise a Volkswagen T-Roc R. However, these alternatives are often more expensive than the Cupra.Competitors such as the Audi and Volkswagen also have much in common with the Ateca, as they’re all products of the Volkswagen Group. If you’ve been tempted by one of those but found it a bit too expensive, or you’re not entirely sold on the styling or badging, that could be another reason to look at the Cupra Ateca.
  • Cupra used to be a badge applied to high-performance SEAT models. However, these days, it’s now a standalone brand. It’s still part of the Volkswagen Audi Group, like SEAT itself, but it specialises in just offering performance versions of SEAT cars.

  • All versions of the Cupra Ateca accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds. They also all have a maximum top speed of 155mph.

  • As standard, the Cupra Ateca comes with a 9.2-inch touchscreen media system. It includes navigation, voice control, DAB, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, Bluetooth, and a host of other infotainment and connectivity features.

  • The Cupra Ateca has a large 485-litre boot. Split-folding rear seats are standard, too, allowing you to maximise the storage space on offer when required.

  • Every Cupra Ateca has a 55-litre fuel tank. That’s slightly in excess of 12 gallons, which should allow you to cover a decent distance before needing to visit a petrol station.

  • Leasing a Cupra Ateca with Vanarama is the smartest way to upgrade what you drive. Not only will you get the best price, guaranteed with our Price Promise*, there’s also no hidden fees, extra protection should the worst happen and access to expert advice when you need it!
