Is Leasing A Car A Good Idea?
Why Lease A DS 3 Crossback?
The DS3 Crossback is great if you’re looking for something with space for the family that also has stylish good looks and plenty of personalisation options. It may not compete on interior space compared with more mainstream SUV offerings, but few alternatives look this good. Efficient petrol, diesel and electric powertrains add to the amount of practicality on offer, rounding off a very desirable small SUV leasing option. What’s The DS3 Crossback Interior Like?
How Does The DS3 Crossback Drive?
All those stylish lines and the cool interior design do come with a slight downside. When it comes to interior space, it’s no surprise that the DS3 isn’t the most spacious small SUV around, but then again, that’s not really what it’s designed for. The boot offers just 350 litres of space – which is a little on the low side when compared to the likes of the VW T-Roc or Audi Q2. The rear seats do, however, fold (mostly) flat in a 60/40 split and the resulting 1050 litres if you require some added space for luggage or the weekly shop.
A strong economy is a key factor in any small SUV leasing decision and the DS3 doesn’t disappoint on this front. The manual 110hp diesel powerplant leads the internal combustion offerings with an average of 61.4mpg in mixed driving. The petrol engines range between 49.6mpg and 44.8mpg, making a strong case for picking one of the more powerful variants given the difference is so minimal.
The electric motor is capable of 198 miles between charges. Covering the same distance in the diesel will cost you more and the electric DS3 also benefits from a far lower benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax band (1% compared to 33%+ for the others). One mitigating factor here is the higher leasing cost of this model – if you aren’t planning to rack up the miles, then the diesel or one of the petrol versions can make for a more financially savvy choice.

The DS 3 Crossback Vs Competitors
There are plenty of impressive rivals in the small SUV class – from the practical and soberly styled offerings such as the VW T-Roc, to the more flamboyant Peugeot 2008. The luxurious and high-tech Audi Q2 and BMW X1 are also worthy options, but none can really match the DS3’s concept car styling and funky interior design. If that matters more to you than having the biggest boot possible, then this is the small SUV you’ve been looking for.
There are 6 trims in total. We would opt for the Prestige trim (1 up from the base) which adds the 10-inch infotainment screen and allows you to spec the electric model, along with a wide range of leather interior finishes.
Yes, all models come standard with rear parking sensors. From the Prestige grade up, you get front parking sensors as well.
The rear seats can be a bit cramped for taller passengers, but on the whole there is enough space for extra luggage too.
No. All models are front-wheel drive, which means that they are less suited to off-road driving but will still be perfectly capable of tackling a muddy trail.
