  • The 500X might be style-orientated, but it still has decent practicality credentials. There’s a 350-litre boot that’s roughly similar to that of the Kia Stonic, although it’s smaller than you’ll find in a VW T-Cross or a Skoda Kamiq. Even so, it’s almost as big as a Ford Focus, so it’ll carry plenty of bags, be they of the shopping, school or overnight variety.

In the cabin, the 500X has masses of passenger space. Those in the front get lots of adjustability from the seats, allowing room to stretch out for taller occupants. And rear space is also good, with lots of head- and legroom. The central 3rd seat isn’t the biggest, but 4 adults will travel in comfort. And kids definitely won’t complain any more than usual – even on long drives.

  • Although it might be an SUV, the 500X is surprisingly economical. The small-but-mighty petrol engines will both return more than 40mpg on the official economy test. But there’s little to choose between the powertrains when it comes to consumption. That’s despite the 30hp and 0.3-litre discrepancies in power and displacement when comparing the 2.

Without a diesel or plug-in hybrid option, there’s no clear-cut favourite for company car drivers. The entry-level Pop model emits 142g of carbon dioxide per kilometre on the official test, putting it in the 32% tax bracket for 2021/22. Some rivals, including the Kia Niro and Jeep Renegade, offer hybrids that might appeal more to those driving company-funded motors.

Benefits Of Leasing A 500X

If you choose to lease a Fiat 500X, it means that you ‘rent’ a brand-new car. This typically lasts for 2-5 years depending on your preferred contract. You won’t own the car at the end of the contract, but you also don’t have to worry about a balloon payment or depreciation costs.

All you need to do is choose your Fiat 500X lease model, the annual mileage, contract length and upfront payment. You can get your new car delivered to you for free and with free returns too if you’re not completely satisfied.

The Fiat 500X Vs Competitors

The 500X slots neatly into the compact SUV class, putting it up against some hugely popular models. It competes with the SEAT Arona, Nissan Juke and Ford Puma.

  • The 500X doesn’t have the biggest boot in the class, but it’s still roomy enough. The cabin is more than spacious enough for 4 adults and families will have plenty of space. You’ll have enough places to store pocket litter such as phones, wallets and other paraphernalia, too.

  • With the styling of a Fiat 500) in an SUV body, what’s not to like? The 500X is a practical, well-equipped and economical alternative to the compact SUV establishment, so there’s substance behind the style.
