Why Lease A Subaru?
Subaru is a Japanese car manufacturer recognised for making capable, practical and high-performance all-wheel-drive cars. Most people know the brand for one car: the Subaru Impreza. In the UK market, Subaru’s line-up consists of SUVs and crossovers. Each is well equipped and, thanks to all-wheel drive and good ground clearance, they’re an ideal lease for drivers who regularly have to tackle poor roads and bad weather.
Founded in 1953, the Japanese brand has built a reputation on dependable cars and accomplished ability – particularly in regard to its all-wheel-drive systems. The Subaru Impreza, and the World Rally Championship Imprezas in the 90s, are partly credited with that reputation – the brand won three consecutive WRC manufacturers’ titles between 1995-1997.
Even away from the rally routes and on general roads, however, Subarus offer impressive reliability and usability, making them a great lease option for everyday drivers. Its vehicles are often rated against other Japanese brands such as Toyota, Honda and Mazda.
The Subaru Range
Things are also straightforward on the engine front. There are no diesel options because Subaru axed diesel engines from its range in 2018 due to changing emissions regulations. One recurring theme you’ll probably see is that every Subaru features a boxer engine. These feature cylinders that are laid out in a flat configuration, instead of being upright or in a V. This long-standing engineering choice helps lower the centre of gravity of its cars and improves handling.
