Frequently Asked Questions

  • How Long Will My Vehicle Delivery Take?
Delivery time really depends on several factors, including the vehicle you choose, whether it's in stock & if you're having accessories fitted. If your vehicle is in stock, available & already kitted out the way you want it, it could take as little as 2-3 weeks to be delivered.
Can I Lease A Vehicle With Bad Credit?
Leasing is a form of vehicle finance or credit, which means funders will look into your credit history when you apply to lease. If you’ve missed payments or cancelled finance in the past, these can negatively impact your credit score. Vanarama works with more than 10 potential funders & we’ll always try to match you with a funder to suit your needs.
Can I Cancel A Lease Part Way Through?
A lease contract can be cancelled by requesting an early termination. If you request this, the vehicle must be returned to the funder & you’ll pay a penalty fee - the amount varies depending on the funder & the type of lease agreement you have, but it could be more than 50% of all remaining payments. If you lease a car with us, you will be covered by Redundancy Protection. This means if due to an unexpected life event you are suddenly unable to afford your payments, we may be able to help. See more about this here.
    Which Businesses Can Lease Vehicles?
In general, any business can lease a vehicle & benefit from the cost savings leasing offers - even new businesses.
Can I Change My Annual Mileage Limit Mid-Contract?
Yes, although the process will depend on which funder your lease is with & if you are eligible to do so. If you think your mileage limit needs changing, call us straight away so we can discuss your options.
What Is The Shortest Lease Contract I Can Take?
The shortest lease term available from Vanarama is 2 years, up to a maximum term of 5 years.
How Does Fair Wear & Tear Work?
If your lease contract requires you to hand your vehicle back at the end, it will be inspected by the finance company for any damage that isn’t considered ‘fair wear & tear’. The odd bump, scratch or scuff is fine - after all, you could have been driving this vehicle for up to 5 years - excessive damage is not & penalties are often charged to repair it.
  • What's the difference between an eTSI Golf and this TSI eHybrid?
Confusing, isn't it? But we can simplify it for you. The eTSI is a mild-hybrid model, with only a little bit of electrification in its powertrain to save a touch of fuel here and there. The TSI eHybrid, meanwhile, is a full petrol-electric plug-in hybrid that is capable of driving up to 40 miles on electric power alone. However, the TSI eHybrid isn't quite as powerful nor sporty a specification of PHEV as the Golf GTE, which uses the same petrol-electric set-up but with a higher state of tune.
Is the Volkswagen Golf eHybrid a good car?
It is. Keep the battery topped up and you’ll have a very quick (0-62mph in 7.4 seconds) and very fuel efficient car, although that is dependent on keeping the battery topped up - otherwise the electric motor is a dead weight and fuel economy deteriorates significantly. In every other way it’s classic Golf - a good thing. It’s comfy, very refined and quiet at all speeds, and despite the boot space loss it’ll still be more than practical enough for most.
Is the Volkswagen Golf eHybrid well-equipped?
The Golf eHybrid is one of two plug-in hybrid electric models in the latest Golf range, coupled with the Golf GTE, which has more power and is pitched more as a high-performance model. The eHybrid is only available with one trim, based on a mid-level Golf (currently called Style), which means it gets 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control, LED headlamps, sports seats and plenty of safety equipment. The Golf is rated five-stars safe by Euro NCAP.
Is the Volkswagen Golf eHybrid practical?
Anyone who’s owned an older Golf will find no surprises here. That’s no problem though, because the Golf hatchback has always had lots of interior space, a decent amount of cabin storage and a large boot. It’s worth noting, however, that the eHybrid version in particular loses boot space compared to other Golfs because there’s an electric motor to package under the floor. By volume the eHybrid has a 273-litre boot space, compared to 380 litres in all the other versions.
Is the Volkswagen Golf eHybrid reliable?
The latest, 8th-generation Volkswagen Golf is a couple of years old now so we’ve had time to figure out if it lives up to the cast iron reputation of the versions that went before it. That does seem to be the case, with Golf owners reporting few mechanical issues, although the car did debut a new infotainment setup that has suffered a few electrical niggles. Most of these have been ironed out by now, and any issues that may arise are covered by Volkswagen’s warranty, and easily fixable with software updates.
How big is the VW Golf?
The VW Golf is 4284mm long, 1789mm wide and 1491mm high.
Is the VW Golf 4WD or Rear Wheel Drive?
The VW Golf is front-wheel drive as standard. You will get all-wheel driving as standard in the Alltrack, R and Sportwagon variants only.
How many passengers can you fit in the VW Golf?
The VW Golf can fit a maximum of 5 people (including the driver) in its 5 seats - 2 in the front, 3 in the back.
How long is the warranty on the VW Golf?
The VW Golf comes with a 3-year warranty as standard.
What driver assistance technology does the VW Golf have as standard?
As standard, all VW Golf comes with the following driver assistance technology as standard: adaptive cruise control, speed limiter, front hazard alert, driver fatigue alert, road sign detection, electric parking brake with auto-hold ability, lane keeping assist, multi-function front-facing camera, oncoming vehicle braking while turning, swerve support, front and rear parking sensors, speed limiter and more.
Why is the VW Golf so popular?
Simply put, the VW Golf is one of the most popular family cars you'll find in the UK - it's comfortable, efficient and looks excellent. It's an icon of the roads, often seen as a premium choice in the hatchback car category.
Does the VW Golf Estate have parking sensors?
Yes. The VW Golf comes with front and rear parking sensors as standard.
What VW Golf trim levels are available?
The VW Golf range has 8 trim levels in the range (from entry level to top): Life, Active, R-Line, GTE, GTI, GTD, R and Alltrack. Each one adds different equipment, colours, details and engine options.
How much boot space does the VW Golf have?
The VW Golf's boot space ranges from 273 to 611 litres (depending on the model you choose), and with the back seats down can range between 1230 to 1845 litres.
