Ford has announced that the long-awaited, totally re-vamped new Transit Connect will cost between £13,921 and £18,021 (OTR ex. VAT) when it arrives in Britain in the autumn. The new Connect is sold alongside the new Custom and the forthcoming Courier as part of Ford's complete re-haul of its commercial vehicle range. The order books are already open for the Transit Connect and you'll be pleased to hear that Vanarama has already got its order in!
Vanarama recently took the opportunity to test drive the new Transit Connect and it certainly lived up to expectations! Available in Van, Double-Cab-in-Van and Kombi body styles with short-wheelbase (L1) and long-wheelbase (L2) versions, the Ford Transit Connect offers a spacious and practical load area and can carry payloads of up to 1,000kg matching best in class figures.
For those business users who also need their commercial vehicle to double as a family hauler from time to time - the Connect delivers. The Connect Kombi and Double-Cab-in-Van models offer seating for five, or seven in the L2 Kombi model, and offer flexible rear seat configurations.
As fuel prices remain high fuel efficiency remains a key factor in any van buyers' decision making process and here, the Transit Connect certainly doesn't disappoint. The Econetic model is capable of 70.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 105g/km when fitted with a fixed 62mph speed limiter (optional). These technologies represent a huge 34% improvement in fuel efficiency when compared to the current model.
The all-new Transit Connect certainly seems to set new standards in the compact vans market. We have 75 vans on order and look forward to announcing our market-leading van leasing deals very soon. In the meantime, take a look at our existing Transit range.
