FOR businesses that need additional height inside the load area, or trades that need a mobile workspace, Ford has announced a new high-roofed version of the Transit Custom. The 2013 International Van of the Year will now offer 20% more load volume than the standard model, featuring 370 mm greater load height to increase the distance from floor to roof to 1.78 meters and provide a maximum load volume of up to 8.3 cubic meters (with the full bulkhead fitted).
Unique in its segment for its all-steel roof construction, that offers greater durability than the composite roof panels, the new high roof Transit Custom will continue to offer all the style and economy of the low roof vehicle.
The Transit Custom is the only van in its segment to achieve a five star Euro NCAP safety rating. It also offers outstanding fuel economy and the longest service intervals in the class at two years/50,000 km/30,000 miles.
The same comprehensive options will be available when deliveries of the new high roof Transit begin later this year, including short and long wheelbase versions and van or kombi body styles.
