Why we did it: no more years of dirt
What better way could Vanarama celebrate Jordan Pickford's dramatic penalty save or Harry Kane's badge-flashing pose during England's nail-biting match against Colombia – surely the dramatic peak of England's World Cup campaign so far – than in dust art on the side of a van?
When Pickford saved that penalty, it all changed. All it took was a Colombian miss, and England were through to the 2018 World Cup Quarter Finals! History in the making?
That's why we decided to do something special to mark the event – Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford, and the English Three Lions badge etched into a dust-covered van by two talented dust artists. Check them out:
And check out the pictures of the artists at work below:
Tension breeds creativity
We were all watching it, and we were so sure England had seen off Colombia as they held a 1-0 lead into extra time. But that goal from Colombia's Yerry Mina in the 93rd minute had our jaws on the floor. Into extra time we went, and finally to the place we never wanted to be…a penalty shootout.
If we lost here, we'd need to dust ourselves off big-time…that's why we did this – to immortalise those moments forever in the way that seemed most appropriate to us: on the side of a van!
