Audi E-Tron Leasing
Top 3 Features
Plenty of practicality.
Premium quality and tech-filled cabin.
A choice of electric battery sizes and power outputs.
When compared to its closest rivals, the E-Tron sits at the larger end of its class. There’s plenty of space for 4 adults to sit in comfort, with the option to carry a 5th person if necessary. Head and legroom are, as you’d expect given the car’s size, of a comfortable level too. Choose the non-Sportback version if you favour ultimate practicality, though – the sloping roof on that version does slightly impact rear headroom.
Behind the rear seats, the regular E-Tron provides 665 litres of boot space, increasing to 1725 litres with the seats folded; be aware that 60 litres of the available storage space is located at the front of the SUV, under what would otherwise be termed the ‘bonnet’. By comparison, the E-Tron Sportback manages 615 litres and 1665 litres. In terms of all-electric rivals, that’s more than the Mercedes-Benz EQC, but less than the Jaguar I-Pace. The plug-in hybrid Range Rover Sport has much less luggage space, as does the hybrid Lexus RX.
The Audi E-Tron comes with a choice of 2 batteries, in 71- and 95kWh sizes. The larger-capacity battery can officially travel around 250 miles on a single charge, the smaller unit slightly less than 200 miles. The high performance S models sit somewhere in between, with an official economy test range of 222 miles on a single charge.
Driving style, traffic and weather conditions will all affect these figures, as will use of the interior functions. Energy consumers such as air conditioning also have an impact on range, but the E-Tron has Audi’s Drive Select system which has an Efficiency mode to help eke out more distance.
E-Tron SUVThe E-Tron is available as a 5-door electric SUV.
E-Tron Sportback SUVThe E-Tron Sportback is an electric SUV coupe with 5 doors.
The E-Tron and -E-Tron Sportback come with 71- and 95kWh batteries. Models fitted with the 71kWh battery can officially travel around 195 miles on a single charge. Larger capacity 95kWh versions offer around 55 miles more. On the high performance S models, the outright range dips from 250 to 222 miles, according to official economy tests.
Charging times for the Audi E-Tron vary depending on which battery you have. Connect a 71kWh model to a 7kW home wallbox and it will be full after 10.5 hours, or 7 hours on an 11kW public charge point. A 120kW rapid charger will charge the E-Tron’s battery in just 50 minutes. The 95kWh battery models take 14 hours to recharge on a home wallbox, dropping to 9 hours on an 11kW connection.
Drivers looking to lease an E-Tron can choose between 5 trim levels. Technik models provide entry-level comfort, while Sport and S line versions offer a sportier image. More technology and style is offered on the Black Edition and Vorsprung versions. E-Tron Sportback models mirror the E-Tron family, with the addition of the equipment-packed Launch Edition. Both the E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback also come as high performance S models.
In addition to its competitively sized boot, the E-Tron has lots of cabin space. There is plenty of room for 4 adults with the option of carrying a 5th. Deep door bins can hold lots of oddments and a large compartment in between the front seats has even more space. There’s also a covered armrest to keep valuable objects out of sight.
Smart styling, a level of technology, SUV practicality and Audi’s premium quality make the E-Tron a popular lease deal choice. And that’s before you take in account its all-electric drivetrain, and the environmental and running cost savings that potentially brings.
