The BMW 5 Series sets the standard for large executive cars. It's comfortable and practical, whilst still being exciting to drive. A 5 Series lease puts you in a car that’s stylish, full of technology, and relatively cheap to run if you choose the right engine. A Touring estate version is available too if you need a little more space than the saloon provides. See our BMW 5 Series lease deals below.
Plug-in hybrid models can be exceptionally cheap to run.
Why Lease A BMW 5 Series?
BMW 5 Series Driving Experience

Depending on how practical you need your 5 Series to be, you can choose to lease either the 5-door saloon or 5-door Touring estate. The latter is ideal for those who need a lot of space, but the saloon will take a couple of big suitcases in the boot with ease, while remaining slightly more refined at speed than the estate.
Even the entry-level petrol-engined version (the 520i) returns a respectable 44mpg fuel economy, while the 520d diesel can easily exceed 50mpg with gentle driving. For the very lowest running costs, however, you’ll want the 530e plug-in hybrid. An electric motor and battery give it the ability to cover more than 30 miles without using any fuel at all – although keep in mind you do need to have a charging wallbox installed at home in order to benefit.

The 5 Series is BMW’s largest executive car. It sits above the 4 Series, and below the 7 Series which is considered a luxury model.
The 5 Series saloon received a 5 star rating after its last NCAP testing, which is the maximum available.
The 4-door 5 Series has the same practicality limitations as any saloon car, in that its boot opening is tight, so it can’t take very big boxes or awkwardly shaped items on board. The 5-door Touring estate solves these issues, however, offering a similar amount of luggage space to many medium-sized SUVs.
The saloon can hold 530 litres, dropping to 410 litres if you choose the plug-in hybrid model. With all seats in place, the Touring estate will swallow 560 litres, again with a reduction to 430 litres in the case of the plug-in.
People are always keen to get a good lease deal on a 5 Series as it offers so much car for your money. It offers fantastic handling, and your passengers will marvel at the comfort and interior technology.
Although the 5 Series’ leasing rivals are similar in interior luxury and in-car technology, none of them offer the same entertaining driving experience as the BMW. It has one of the best-judged balances between great handling and great ride comfort of any car you can lease today. If you want a car that excels in all areas the 5 Series is for you.
The 5 Series strikes a perfect balance between comfort and handling. The 520d engine offers a great blend of power, quietness and efficiency for everyday driving. But if you do need more power – for towing a caravan, for example – the 530d fits the bill, thanks to its standard 4-wheel drive.
You can lease the 5 Series with plug-in hybrid options which are quite fast as well as efficient – this is because their electric motors serve to boost acceleration as well as allowing the car to drive in zero-emissions mode.
The 5 Series interior feels sportier and more driver-orientated than the interiors of many rivals. The driving position is comfortable, with all the controls sitting exactly where you’d expect them to. Space and comfort in the back are great as well, and material quality is very high throughout.
Leasing a BMW 5 Series means you’ll have access to a brand-new car for a fixed monthly cost. Fixed monthly payments will continue for the agreed length of your contract. Often lease deals will last between 2 to 5 years, but you can choose a contract length to suit you.
You can choose your annual mileage and decide how much you’d like to pay at the start of the contract. The cost of car maintenance and servicing can also be included in your lease deal as an optional extra. Once your lease deal ends, you simply return the car.
If you choose a BMW 5 Series business lease, you can reclaim 100% of the VAT on your lease deal, providing your company is eligible. Read our guide to car leasing for more information.
The 5 Series saloon is a classic body shape – a sharp and sporty-looking 4-door that offers plenty of interior space. There’s also the 5 Series Touring estate, which offers a huge boot and loads of room for occupants, while retaining the stylish looks and excellent handling of the 4-door.
If you’re looking to lease a BMW 5 Series, you’ll be picking between SE, M Sport and M Sport Edition trim levels with the standard petrol, diesel and hybrid engines, while the range is topped off by high-performance M550i and M5 versions.
People often gravitate to the sporty-looking M Sport trim level when leasing a 5 Series. However, even the entry-level SE is well equipped.
