Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Leasing

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is a premium, large SUV with coupe-like styling that rivals cars such as the Audi Q8 and BMW X6. As you’d expect for an upmarket Mercedes, it’s great to drive, comfortable and well equipped. Options include a stout straight-6 diesel model, and 2 high-performance petrol AMG variants – and there’s a plug-in hybrid version for those seeking maximum economy. All get Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, too, which helps make this GLE Coupe easier to drive in all conditions and more capable, generally speaking.

  • You’d hope that the GLE Coupe offers up plenty of interior space, given its size, and it really does. There’s lots of room up front and a decent amount in the back, too, although the stylish roofline does make it less spacious in the rear than the conventional GLE. Still, there’s enough space in the back for adults.

The non-hybrid versions also have a boot that offers up to 655 litres of storage space, which should be plenty for most. The plug-in hybrid model has a smaller 510-litre boot, due to the extra hardware and battery pack, but that’s still about the same as that offered by some large saloons.

  • The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is not a cheap car to run. That won’t come as a surprise to anyone, given its size, premium nature and performance. The 2.3-tonne V6 diesel model, for example, can do 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and is claimed to average around 34mpg.

However, the plug-in hybrid model does far better when it comes to emissions and economy, so it could be the GLE of choice for some. A 3-year, unlimited-mileage warranty is also standard on all Mercedes, which will help avoid any unexpected repair bills.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe SUV

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is a 5-door, 5-seat luxury SUV. All versions are automatic and come with all-wheel drive, and there are petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models offered. If you’re looking for a normal SUV, however, Mercedes does offer a conventional GLE elsewhere in its range.

Trim Levels

Trim levels available: AMG Line Premium Plus, Mercedes-AMG 53 Premium Plus, Mercedes-AMG 63S.

If you want a diesel GLE Coupe, or the plug-in hybrid, you’ll need to go for the AMG Line Premium Plus model. Even this base variant comes packed with kit, though, so it’ll feel every inch the premium experience. Standard features include a 360-degree parking camera, rain-sensing wipers, a head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and infotainment system, cruise control and quad-zone climate control.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Vs Competitors

Many manufacturers have introduced large coupe-styled SUVs, so the Mercedes has plenty of competition. There’s the Audi Q8, BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe, as well as alternatives such as the Maserati Levante, Tesla Model S and Jaguar I-PACE.

Few would grumble at driving any of those, but the Mercedes’ blend of practicality, comfort, equipment and engine options give it real appeal. And, if you want something really quick and compelling, you could opt for one of the AMG versions.

  • The GLE Coupe comes with a tremendous amount of equipment as standard, so even those leasing the entry-level model won’t find themselves wishing for extra kit. Even the front seats are heated and air conditioned, for example.

  • Mercedes itself has a bit of a hit-and-miss reputation for reliability but major problems with the GLE Coupe seem uncommon, so there isn’t much to worry about. The 3-year/unlimited-mileage warranty should also keep reliability concerns to a minimum.

  • Every model of the GLE Coupe comes with a 360-degree camera, as well as the Parking Pilot assistance system, so parking shouldn’t prove problematic.

  • Mercedes includes wireless phone charging as standard in the GLE Coupe. The infotainment system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to remain connected and to use your apps while on the go.

  • The plug-in hybrid GLE Coupe, which blends diesel and electric power, can travel up to 55 miles on electric power alone if the battery is charged. It’s much more efficient than the regular models, too, making it a good choice for those more interested in economy and low tax costs.
