Volkswagen ID.5 Lease Deals

The Volkswagen ID.5 is a large, fully electric family SUV that is the sportier-looking version of the extremely popular VW ID.4 electric crossover. Thanks to a big battery, it has a very impressive 1-charge range, while the interior gets stylish items such as 2-tone leather trim and a panoramic glass roof. For those looking for a car that has zero emissions but which comes with a big dose of style, this could be the ideal lease.

Top Volkswagen ID.5 Features

High-quality cabin.

  • The ID.5 comes as standard with a 77kWh battery and a 204hp electric motor, mounted under the boot and driving the rear wheels. For the basic ID.5 Pro model, Volkswagen quotes a 1-charge range of 313 miles.

Even with some motorway driving, an ID.5 should pretty easily manage 250 miles before it needs to be charged again. When it does need a top-up, from a high-speed charger the ID.5’s battery can charge at speeds of up to 135kW, which means it can add up to an extra 62 miles for every 7 minutes spent on the charger.

  • The ID.5 might be the more stylish, more coupe-like brother of the ID.4, but that doesn’t mean that it’s less practical. While the ultimate boot space, with the back seats folded, is of course a little less than the ID.4 can manage, with the seats up there’s still a very roomy 549-litre boot.

Helpfully, that boot is also square and flat-floored, with no lip between the edge of the bumper and the boot. In the back seats, even with that swoopy roofline, there’s still plenty of space for taller passengers’ heads, and plenty of legroom too. There’s an almost-flat floor as well, so 3 people can sit across the back seat in reasonable comfort.

Which Models Are Available?

The ID.5 comes in a single 5-door coupe SUV body style, with 2 power options. There’s the standard 204hp electric motor version, which comes in ID.5 Pro and ID.5 Pro Performance specification, while at the top of the range there’s an ID.5 GTX that features 2 motors, 4-wheel drive and 299hp. That model gets a slightly shorter range but can still manage up to 296 miles between charges.

Compare Your Volkswagen ID.5 Lease Deal

The ID.5 has 3 closely matched rivals from within the Volkswagen Group. First, there’s the ID.4, which is effectively the same car with a taller roof and a lower lease cost. While it doesn’t have the style of the ID.5, the ID.4 has all of the same capability and performance. The same can be said of the Skoda Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe, while the Audi Q4 E-Tron and Q4 E-Tron Sportback offer the same package with a more premium look and feel.

It’s also well worth considering the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, which offer a similar mixture of exterior style, interior space and long 1-charge range. Both of those cars offer very good value for your leasing money and come with lengthy warranties for added peace of mind.

Finally, the Nissan Ariya takes a great deal of what makes the more conventional Qashqai a great car, and mixes that with terrific style, a high-quality cabin and all-electric power to make it a convincing ID.5 rival.

  • While the ID.5 is quite a new model, the ID.4 has been around for a little while now and has proven to be dependable and solidly built. It’s likely then that, given the commonality between the 2 cars, that the ID.5 will follow suit on the reliability front. All Volkswagens come with a 2-year unlimited mileage warranty, with a 3rd year that has a 60,000-mile limit. The ID.5’s battery gets its own 8-year, 100,000-mile warranty that guarantees the battery won’t fall below 70% of its original performance in that time.

  • The ID.5 has a 549-litre boot, which expands to 1561 litres if you fold down the back seats.

  • Yes. All models come with front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera. Higher specification models come with a surround-view camera system and automated parking.

  • For families, the ID.5 is very practical thanks to the big boot and roomy back seat. Up front, there are also large door bins and lots of storage space in the centre console between the front seats.

  • The ID.5 is popular because it’s at the meeting point of 2 hugely popular motoring trends right now – electric cars and coupe-style SUVs. Combine that with its high-quality finish and long range, and it’s not hard to see why the ID.5 is proving to be a hit.

  • We guarantee to give you the best monthly prices, plus we never charge you any processing fees or hidden costs. So, if you’re looking for the best Volkswagen ID.5 lease deals, choose Vanarama. Plus, we’re rated Excellent on Trustpilot and are on-hand to guide you through the leasing process if you need any help.
