If energy efficiency is top of your search criteria when it comes to buying a new van, then you'll be interested in the all-new Ford Transit Connect. Ford has now released its fuel economy information revealing that the second generation Transit Connect will be up to a third more efficient than before.
The all-new Transit Connect makes huge progress in slashing fuel costs for van drivers, for whom fuel is often such a massive part of their overall business spending. The new model is the first Ford van to offer customers the highly fuel-efficient 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine which has won the International Engine of the Year award twice and delivers class-leading petrol economy of 50.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 129g/km. Meanwhile the 1.6-litre 95PS ECOnetic is the most fuel efficient option, returning 70.6mpg combined at 105g/km.
While focusing on fuel efficiency, Ford hasn't short-changed us on load carrying ability or durability either. Available for lease later this year the all-new Transit Connect comes in Double-Cab-in-Van and Kombi bodystyles and short wheelbase (L1) and long wheelbase (L2) versions with a 1,000kg maximum payload.
