The dominance of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in setting quality standards worldwide has been reinforced once again after it won the Best Large Van title in the 2013 Van Fleet World Honours. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Van Division scooped the Safety Award.
Along with other candidates for the Best Large Van category, the Mercedes Sprinter underwent rigorous field testing. In addition, independent evaluation on the vans' service costs, resale value, and fuel consumption was also part of the final score.
It is the second year running that Mercedes-Benz Vans has won the Safety Award. The Sprinter has always been a class-leader in van safety and driver assistance systems. In fact Mercedes-Benz was the first van manufacturer to offer the Electronic Stability Programme 11 years ago and is the only van manufacturer to fit the safety system as standard to all of its vans. Mercedes has left nothing out when it comes to safety in the new 2014 Mercedes Sprinter which comes with five fresh assistance systems that are aimed at reducing accidents.
If you are considering the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in your current search then you haven't got to long to wait - the 2014 model is available for order from the Autumn.
