DS 9 Lease Deals

The DS 9 is a large luxury car from DS Automobiles, which is the standalone premium arm of Citroen. This modern-looking saloon has loads going for it – from an elegant interior to a wide array of equipment, all of which could tempt you away from well proven alternatives like the BMW 5 Series. It’s a bit of a niche choice, but it’ll stand out in a sea of silver mass-market saloons.

Lots of advanced safety technology.

  • The DS 9 is designed to deliver a luxurious driving experience. To achieve that, it has to measure up on the practicality front. It’s frustrating, after all, if you get in a supposedly upmarket saloon and brush your head on the roof, or find you can’t easily stow your luggage or phone.

Fortunately, there’s lots of interior space in the DS 9 and lots of useful storage points, too. The DS 9 also serves up a 510-litre boot, which is about the same as that offered by many a saloon rival. There’s even a ski hatch, as well as split-folding rear seats. This means that few will have any problems when it comes to practicality.

  • The DS 9 shouldn’t prove expensive to run. The standard petrol model is claimed to average up to 40.9mpg and its emissions aren’t excessive, going as low as 33g/km of CO2. If you go for the plug-in hybrid DS 9, you could potentially average up to 256.8mpg too.

Every new DS also comes with a 3-year/60,000-mile warranty, a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and a 3-year paint warranty, which should help stave off unexpected problems and bills. A 3-year main warranty might not sound exceptional for a posh saloon, but it’s the same as what you’d get with Audi. The plug-in version also benefits from an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty, which should minimise worries on that front.

DS 9 Models Available

DS 9 Saloon

The DS 9 is a large, premium, 5-seat saloon that competes with cars such as the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It’s a very distinctive option, with a sleek exterior and attention-grabbing interior, and its refined and well-equipped nature will appeal to many drivers. It’s also available as a plug-in hybrid, which is ideal for those with shorter commutes in mind. A conventional and less expensive petrol model is also available.

DS 9 Trim Levels

There are only 2 trim levels, making it easy to pick a DS 9. You won’t feel hard done by if you go for the entry-level model, though, as standard equipment includes adaptive LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, big digital displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, DAB, heated front electric seats and a reversing camera.Trim levels available: Performance Line +, Rivoli +.

The DS 9 Vs Competitors

If you’re in the market for an upmarket saloon then you have probably already shortlisted cars such as the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Volvo S90, Jaguar XE and Alfa Romeo Giulia. They’re all very capable options and few would be disappointed with any on that list. Their popularity leads them to be everywhere, though, which is where the DS 9 comes in.

If you’re more interested in design and details, the DS 9’s looks and finish will make it an appealing choice – while its extensive equipment levels, sensible warranty and good efficiency will help tick other key boxes.

  • DS was the name originally used for a now-classic Citroen model that was launched in 1955. The name was revived in 2010 as almost kind of a trim level for a line of new cars and then later spun off as a standalone premium brand.

  • The plug-in hybrid DS 9, which features a petrol engine and electric motor, packs the same total power as the normal petrol model. Consequently, its additional weight means that it is slightly slower. It can run on pure electric power for up to 38 miles, though, lending it significant appeal.

  • The DS 9 comes with a 12-inch touchscreen media system that has navigation, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, DAB, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support. A wireless smartphone charger is also standard.

  • Some upgrades make the upmarket Rivoli + model desirable, including massaging and air-conditioned front seats. The standard DS 9 is very well equipped, though, so don’t feel compelled to splash out unless the Rivoli + has something you really want or need.

  • The front-wheel-drive DS 9 is only offered in petrol or plug-in hybrid form, both of which use 8-speed automatic transmissions. The plug-in hybrid is a good choice if you’re looking for diesel-like economy, though.

  • DS is still in its early days and so is the DS 9, meaning it’s hard to judge its reliability. The DS 9 does, however, come with a 3-year warranty to help with any lingering worries.

  • At Vanarama, you’ll find the best DS 9 lease deals around, with no hidden fees. And you can enjoy our free 30-day returns policy, allowing you to return the vehicle if you’re not completely satisfied.
