Why Lease A Honda CR-V?
What’s The Cabin Like?
How Does It Drive?
The CR-V has never been short of interior space and 4 or even 5 adults can get comfortable inside. Taller passengers in the rear won’t want for extra head- or legroom, and the centre hump is also less pronounced than in some rivals – making the middle-rear seat more usable. There is no 7-seat option anymore but those rear pews were really only suitable for small children anyway. Storage space for odds and ends is good, with large door pockets, 4 cupholders, USB slots – 2 in front and 2 in the rear on all but the base trim – and an available wireless phone charger all going to make the CR-V a very practical vehicle.
As for boot space, the CR-V has always offered plenty – but the move to hybrid power has reduced this from 589 to 497 litres. This is still better than the Nissan Qashqai and hybrid variants of the Peugeot 3008, but it trails the Volkswagen Tiguan. Rear seats down, the boot space increases to 1697 litres, which is up there with the best in class.
There is just the 1 hybrid engine – and in front-wheel-drive form. it offers around 42mpg in combined driving conditions. The all-wheel-drive variant manages 38mpg. These figures compare well to most rivals’ offerings, although they are not as good as the best diesels like the Skoda Karoq’s 2.0-litre unit, which returns 52.3mpg.

Honda CR-V SUV
The CR-V is offered in a 5-door SUV body style. The hybrid-only model gives up some boot space over the discontinued petrol models and the 7-seat option has also been dropped.Trim Levels
The Honda CR-V Vs Competitors
The Honda CR-V has been highly rated in surveys and previous generations have proven to be reliable as well. An industry standard 3-year warranty is offered on all new Honda cars. The hybrid components are covered for 5 years or 90,000 miles.
The Honda CR-V has a 497-litre boot, which is slightly above average for the segment. The total cargo space with the rear seats down is 1697 litres, which is up there with the most spacious midsized SUVs.
There are 5 trim levels, namely S, SE, SR, EX and Sport Line. We would avoid the base S spec and look at the SE, as it adds a 7-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and can be had with AWD.
Aside from the base trim, all CR-Vs have front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.
The Honda CR-V offers a very spacious interior and plenty of storage space for your wallet, phone and drinks. The boot space is slightly smaller than before due to the hybrid drivetrain, but it is still above the class average.
The hybrid engine is not suited to towing heavy loads and can only manage a 750kg braked trailer. The previous petrol unit could tow 2000kg, which is similar to what most non-hybrid rivals offer.
