Nissan Juke Colour Guide - Which Should you Choose?

Nissan juke colour guide - which should you choose?

Here’s a detailed look at the paint palette available on the 2nd-generation Nissan Juke 5-seater crossover-SUV, which we hope will help you choose your perfect new car colour.

There are 26 main paint options for the Nissan Juke, comprising 11 monotone colour schemes – made up of 2 solid paints, 4 metallic paints, 3 special metallic paints and 2 pearlescent paints – and a further 15 2-tone combinations, which pair some of the above 11 colours with either black, silver or red roofs and door mirrors. We also outline the various interior upholsteries that go with these external hues.

Paint Types

Solid = a simple body colour with no additives in the paint. Usually comprises 3 coats, these being a primer, then the paint, then a clear, protective lacquer. Solid paints aren’t particularly shiny and are normally the only standard/no-cost colours offered by manufacturers.

Metallic = same application process as above but the paint now has powdered metal mixed into it, which reflects more light to give the car a shinier appearance. Metallic finishes usually cost more than solid paints.

Pearlescent/Mica = as above, only instead of metal, ceramic crystals (known as ‘mica’) are added to the paint. These not only reflect light but refract it too, giving one colour different appearances in different levels of light. They’re normally as expensive as or pricier than metallic paints.

Matte = uses special ‘flattening’ agents in the paint/layering make-up to give the car a non-reflective appearance, and sometimes an unusual texture too. These are normally the most expensive and rarest of paint options, and are not offered on many new car models.

Exterior

Single-Tone Colour Schemes

Flame Red

Nissah-juke-flame-red

Type: Solid

Cost: No cost (standard colour on all trim levels except Tekna+)

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

Nissan kicks off the Juke range in the standard automotive manufacturer style with a flat-finish solid paint, but to be fair Flame Red looks pretty nice – it’s bright and various bits of black trim on the crossover complement this shade nicely. This is the only no-cost paint choice on every trim grade bar range-topping Tekna+.

Arctic White

Nissan-juke-arctic-white

Type: Solid

Cost: £250

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

The only other solid paint option – although it’s not free like Flame Red – and a first go at white, Arctic is a very pure shade. It might be a bit too harsh or cold for some, and it will definitely show up muck and grime, but Japanese cars and white go very well together in the main.

Ink Blue

Nisan-juke-ink-blue

Type: Metallic

Cost: £575

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

If you’ve seen any 2014-2017 Mk2 Nissan Qashqais tooling around in a dark purplish-blue colour, it’s this one. Ink Blue metallic finally migrates to the Juke range and it serves the crossover’s striking lines well.

Blade Silver

Nissa-juke-blade-silver

Type: Metallic

Cost: £575

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

A fairly regulation metallic silver, Blade isn’t the most adventurous of colours but lots of people prefer the safer finish of a monochrome shade, so this will be popular with Juke buyers who are more mature in years.

Gun Metallic

Nissan-juke-gun-metallic

Type: Metallic

Cost: £575

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

As its name suggests, Gun is a metallic paint and it’s a shortening of ‘gunmetal’, because this is a classic – and classy – midgrade grey.

Pearl Black

Nissan-juke-pearl-black

Type: Metallic

Cost: £575

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

Don’t be fooled by its name – Pearl Black is not a pearlescent colour at all, but a metallic finish. Maybe someone in the Nissan paint department is a big fan of the name of Captain Jack Sparrow’s ship and fancied paying homage to it here. At any rate, Pearl Black is a pleasing hue, although bear in mind it makes the black plastic wheel-arch/side-sill cladding, door mirrors and side pillars stand out far less than any other colour for the Juke.

Vivid Blue

Nissan-juke-vivid-blue

Type: Special metallic

Cost: £745

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

This is another carry-over from the previous-generation Nissan Qashqai (Mk2). Vivid Blue is self-explanatory, as it’s a much brighter, more intense shade of the colour than Ink Blue and really helps to make the Juke stand out in a crowd.

Burgundy

Nissan-juke-burgundy

Type: Special metallic

Cost: £745

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

Going the other way from Vivid Blue, if you want a more sedate special metallic paint then Burgundy is a good choice – a rich, deep, wine-red colour that gives the Nissan an expensive look.

Chestnut Bronze

Nissan-juke-chestnut-bronze

Type: Special metallic

Cost: £745

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

Most people would call this ‘brown’ but obviously Chestnut Bronze sounds more aspirational. An unusual shade in the modern car world but perhaps all the more appealing, precisely because of that fact.

Fuji Sunset Red

Nissan-juke-fuji-sunset-red

Type: Pearlescent

Cost: £745

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

The first of two pearlescent paints and arguably one of the Mk2 Juke’s signature colours, Fuji is a searing, orangey-red finish that looks very modern and cutting-edge. It might not date as well as some of the other paints available, although it sure is daring.

Storm White

Nissan-juke-storm-white

Type: Pearlescent

Cost: £745

Available On: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna

A softer, more mellow take on white than the solid Arctic at the other end of the paint range, Storm White looks particularly good on higher-spec models with big wheels and the optional 2-tone colour scheme. Speaking of which…

2-Tone Colour Schemes

From midgrade N-Connecta level upwards, the Nissan Juke is available with a selection of 2-tone colour schemes, which paint the roof and the door mirrors in different colours. In total, there are 7 options with a Pearl Black contrast, 6 options with a Blade Silver contrast and 2 options with a Fuji Sunset Red contrast, making 15 in all.

The Tekna+ models come with a 2-tone finish as standard, so you cannot get any of the 11 monochrome schemes at this top-spec level, but not all of the 2-tone options are free on the Tekna+ – 6 are no-cost choices but the other 9 incur a nominal fee.

Interior

Black Embossed Fabric And Black Fabric

Type: Cloth, dual finish

Cost: No cost (standard interior)

Available On: Visia, Acenta

Available With All Body Colours?: Yes

Straightforward dark-cloth seats, although the centre sections are embossed with a diamond-motif pattern.

Black Embossed Fabric And Black Fabric With Dark Grey Accent

Type: Cloth, dual finish

Cost: No cost (standard interior)

Available On: N-Connecta

Available With All Body Colours?: Yes

As above, only the outsides of the seats’ side bolsters (both bases and backs) are trimmed with a Dark Grey strip of fabric to provide some light-and-shade contrast.

Black Embossed Fabric And Black Syntech Leather

Type: Cloth and synthetic leather

Cost: No cost (standard interior)

Available On: Tekna

Available With All Body Colours?: Yes

Tekna-grade cars get mad-made leather outers to the seats, while the embossed fabric has a more technical, interesting pattern than the cloth in the lower Visia, Acenta and N-Connecta cars.

Interior Personalisation Package: Enigma Black

Type: Black partial leather with black Alcantara inserts

Cost: No cost (standard interior)

Available On: Tekna+

Available With All Body Colours?: Yes

Available with all 15 2-tone exterior colours, the standard interior for the Tekna+ Juke flagships is this Alcantara-heavy trim. The sporty material not only clothes outer trim strips of the seats, but also the door cards, the transmission tunnel, the centre armrest and the dashboard fascia pad.

Interior Personalisation Package: Energy Orange

Type: Black partial leather with orange inserts

Cost: No cost (optional)

Available On: Tekna+

Available With All Body Colours?: No

This switches out all the Alcantara from the Enigma Black IPP and replaces it with orange details, while the leather centre-sections of the seats gain a longitudinal stitching pattern. It’s a bold look but be aware it can only be specified on any Juke Tekna+ with Fuji Sunset Red somewhere on the outside – be that the main body colour or for the roof/door mirrors – so the Energy Orange selection is only available with 4 exterior paintwork combinations, not the full 15 offered on the Tekna+.

Interior Personalisation Package: Light Grey

Type: Black embossed fabric with Light Grey Syntech leather inserts

Cost: No cost (optional)

Available On: Tekna+

Available With All Body Colours?: No

The rarest of all Nissan Juke interiors. This is only available on the Tekna+ grade and only with the Storm White body with Pearl Black roof/mirrors exterior 2-tone colour scheme. Choose the IPP Light Grey, and the seats revert to fabric centre sections but most of the interior becomes the lighter shade of grey. Bear in mind this IPP clothes more of the seats’ upper and outer sections in the contrast Light Grey than either IPP Enigma Black (Alcantara) or IPP Energy Orange (orange inserts), so it’s a more dominant colour scheme throughout the passenger compartment.
