Renault Kadjar Leasing

The Kadjar is Renault’s family SUV – born to do battle with the likes of the dominant Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan. It’s been on the market since 2015 and has proven a popular model, thanks to its agreeable looks, family-friendly practicality and strong equipment levels. It may not be the most exotic SUV – but if you’re looking for something dependable, attractive and with plenty of space, the Kadjar should be a worthwhile leasing option.

Inoffensive looks.

Good practicality.

Well equipped.

  • No doubt, practicality is this car’s party piece. A roomy cabin and a big boot will be a boon for growing families. Back seats that will accommodate adults make it perfect for those whose kids are starting to outgrow them, too.

The boot is a good size, with room enough for plenty of baggage. At 472 litres, it’s even larger than the Qashqai it’s based on. It’s also got a flat floor for ease of loading and unloading.

  • Happily, the Kadjar comes with a 5-year warranty from new so, should something go wrong, repair costs shouldn’t be a concern. What will sting a bit is the fuel efficiency of the sole petrol engine option. It’s claimed it’ll get around 40mpg, depending on how you use it – but rival hybrids, EVs and diesel models could be even more frugal. That petrol incurs a higher tax rate too, which is an important consideration for company-car users.

The Renault Kadjar vs Competitors

There’s no shortage of rivals for the Renault Kadjar, including its Nissan Qashqai sibling. The new Qashqai has just launched – and it's modern, stylish and well equipped, but the Kadjar is still a little roomier. The Skoda Karoq isn’t as attractive, being a straight-laced SUV, but the space and practicality on offer trumps the Kadjar. The Honda CR-V has a frugal hybrid engine and a sense of quality that’s difficult to match, but is expensive. The Peugeot 3008 ticks nearly every box though – bringing style, space, economy and attractive leasing costs together.
  • Though launched with more engines and the option of all-wheel drive, the Kadjar range as it is now no longer offers the choice of 4x4 drive.

  • Sort of. Nissan has just launched a new Qashqai, but the Kadjar shares everything under the bodywork with the 2nd-generation car that was introduced in 2013. The styling and interior is all Renault, though.

  • It’s got a lot of space and looks good, which will be enough for many people, but other cars are objectively better. Some strong lease deals, however, means plenty of people will also accept some of the shortcomings.

  • At around 4.5 metres, the Renault Kadjar is quite a large car, so parking sensors are very handy. Happily, every model gets sensors at bothe the front and rear of the car. The top-spec GT Line model also has a reversing camera.

  • Leasing a Renault Kadjar with Vanarama is the smartest way to upgrade what you drive.
