Why Lease an Audi Q7?
What's The Cabin Like?
How Does It Drive?
The Audi Q7 is broadly similar in size to the Volvo XC90, BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. However, it manages to make better use of the available space and beats its rivals with 740 litres of cargo-carrying capacity with the 3rd row of seats folded, and a cavernous 2025 litres with both rear rows tucked away.
When all 7 seats are in place, the Q7’s 295 litres do fall short of the Volvo XC90’s 356-litre capacity, but this does not detract from the fact that the Audi Q7 is a very spacious vehicle. The seats are supportive and comfortable, and even the rear-most row offers decent leg- and headroom for children or shorter adults, especially if the second row is moved forward. The plug-in hybrid models forego the 3rd row of seats due to the battery located in the boot floor, and the space behind the second row is slightly smaller at 650 litres. It’s worth remembering that the 3 seats in the 2nd row of the Audi’s cabin all slide individually, which makes for plenty of interior configuration options and is therefore a boon for family users.
Storage options for phones, drinks and handbags are plentiful, with the glovebox being particularly large. Occupants up front get a wireless phone charger and 2 USB ports located under the central armrest, while the middle row gets folding armrests with additional cupholders and another set of USB ports. Even the occupants in the 3rd row get a set of cupholders.
You would expect a big and heavy SUV to exact a penalty at the pumps but, thanks to the latest engine technology and mild-hybrid tech on most models, all but the most powerful SQ7 variant offer acceptable economy figures.
The 231- and 286hp diesels lead the stats, with both offering a combined consumption figure of 34.9mpg. The plug-in hybrid 55 TFSIe models are even more impressive, with a claimed 113mpg on the combined cycle. It is worth noting that achieving that figure will require that you make the most of the 27 miles of electric-only range on your commute.
At the other end of the spectrum is the 507hp Audi SQ7, it offers a slightly less wallet-friendly 23.3mpg combined. In general, though, you can expect around 30mpg from the rest of the range in real-world driving.

Q7 SUV
The Q7 is available in the traditional SUV body style, with all trims aside from the plug-in hybrids getting a 7-seat configuration. If you are willing to forego the 3rd row of seats and some cargo space, then take a look at the mechanically similar Audi Q8.High Performance Models
The SQ7 headlines the range thanks to its 507hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine and 4.1-second 0-62mph time. The 60 TFSIe model comes equipped with a 462hp plug-in hybrid engine, which adds a claimed 108.6mpg combined fuel consumption figure into the mix, while still being indecently rapid.Trim Levels
The Audi Q7 Vs Competitors
Audi has a strong reputation for reliability and the Q7 does not buck the trend. An upgradeable 3-year 60,000 mile warranty should provide further peace of mind, just in case something does go awry.
The Q7 offers 2025 litres of boot space with both rear rows folded down and 295 litres with just the rearmost seats folded. The plug-in hybrids offer 650 litres of boot space, due to the placement of their battery packs, and they also do not have the option of a 3rd row of seats.
The Audi Q7 is available in 6 trim levels ranging from the Sport and S Line to the fully equipped and more performance-focused Competition Vorsprung and Vorsprung variants.
Yes, all Q7s are equipped with parking sensors, while higher trim levels can be equipped with a raft of additional parking aids such as the Parking Assist with Parking Aid Plus, which essentially parks the car for you.
The Q7 is one of the more spacious SUVs in its class and offers plenty of practical features such as electrically retracting 2nd-row seats.
The Audi Q7 is a popular car to lease thanks to its all-round capability. Stand-out features include a particularly spacious and well-equipped cabin. The broad range of engines on offer also adds to this big SUV’s appeal.
