Porsche Macan Lease Deals

The Macan is the smaller of Porsche’s 2 SUVs. It aims to bring Porsche’s legendary sporting performance into a genuinely usable and all-round family SUV, and it succeeds spectacularly. This is one of the best SUVs to drive, of any size, and it’s a practical family car too. Find out more about leasing a Porsche Macan below:

Porsche Macan Top Features

A more compact option than the Cayenne.

A range of trims and engine choices, but all are fast, performance machines.

Handling and enjoyment that rivals plenty of sports cars.

  • The Macan is smaller than Porsche’s other SUV, the Cayenne, so space inside is a bit more limited, but for its size it’s roomy enough. Space up front is very good and while rear passengers might wish for the extra legroom you’ll get in an equivalent Audi or BMW, it’s more than spacious enough for children. You can’t slide or recline the rear seats, which is something that some rivals allow.

Boot space is generous at 500 litres, although there are other cars of this type with more room for luggage. Still, the Porsche’s rear seats fold down in a 40/20/40 split, which gives you plenty of flexibility for loading larger items while still carrying passengers.

The cabin has plenty of storage spaces, including good-sized door pockets, 2 cupholders between the front seats and a netted space in the boot to stop smaller items rolling around.

  • Porsches are premium, performance-focused cars, so the costs – both leasing and running – will be higher than some rivals. Because all the Macan’s engines are petrol and all models are 4-wheel drive, you’ll spend more on fuel than you would in diesel- or hybrid-powered competitors, or cars with front-wheel drive, but that’s the price you pay for performance.

As an example, the official fuel economy for the entry-level Macan is up to 27.7mpg, while the top-spec Macan Turbo promises up to 24.8mpg.

Porsche Macan Models Available

Porsche Macan

There’s just 1 body style for the Macan, which is a 5-door SUV. Unlike the larger Cayenne, there isn’t a sleeker coupe-styled version.

High Performance Models

All Macans have very impressive performance, but if you want the even-more-sporty versions, look at the 380hp Macan GTS or the 440hp Macan Turbo.

Trim Levels

The basic spec list for the Macan includes 18-inch alloy wheels and LED lights, 3-zone climate control air conditioning and heated front seats, among more.

Trim levels available: Macan, Macan S, Macan GTS, Macan Turbo

The Porsche Macan Vs Competitors

The spread of the Macan models means rivals fall into both premium and luxury segments, and because it’s not the cheapest car, there are larger SUVs that fall into similar price points when it comes to leasing deals.

Direct rivals include the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and X4, and the Range Rover Velar. Many of these rivals are more practical in terms of passenger and boot space, and the Range Rover is better off-road, but none are as good to drive as the Porsche.

Specific sporty comparisons include the Jaguar F-Pace and Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which are both very good but not as sharp as the Macan. For a more affordable performance SUV, check out the excellent Cupra Ateca or Cupra Formentor.

You could also consider leasing the Mercedes-Benz GLC or the Volvo XC60. Most of these rivals feature diesel and/or plug-in hybrid power options, which could be of interest.

  • If you value a great brand on the badge and want to lease an SUV that handles brilliantly, the Macan is fantastic.

  • Both of Porsche’s SUVs are excellent. The Cayenne is larger and more expensive, and has more interior space. The Macan is more affordable and handles better, though the Cayenne is still outstanding for its size.

  • The Macan fairs well on reliability and should prove to be a car with very little maintenance issues.

  • It depends on your priorities. The Macan GTS is an all-round performer, with strong acceleration and sharper handling than the standard cars. The Turbo is more expensive but faster in a straight line.

  • The GTS has more power than the Macan S (380- vs 354hp) and flashier looks, with black alloy wheels and a more luxurious interior spec. It also has adaptive suspension as standard.

  • The standard Macan uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine. The Macan S uses a 3.0-litre turbo V6, while the GTS and Macan Turbo both use a twin-turbo, 2.9-litre V6 engine in different states of tune.
