Ford Mustang Lease Deals

The Ford Mustang is one of the most well-known car models in the world – but up until quite recently, you weren’t able to lease a Mustang in the UK, as it had never been officially imported here by the US manufacturer’s European arm.All that changed with this current generation of Mustang. You can now lease your very own brawny, all-American, V8-engined muscle car, complete with a steering wheel on the right, without having to go through the hassle of personally importing from the US.

Ford Mustang Top Features

It’s not the sharpest-handling sports car, but has a real feel good factor.

An old-school muscle car with a rumbling V8 under the bonnet.

Available as both a coupe and convertible.

  • While the more-than-400-litre boot capacity looks decent on paper, in reality a high lip and narrow opening can make it tricky to load. And the rear seats are really only suitable for small children.

The one thing you can say in its favour here is that the Mustang does marginally better than one of its key rivals, the Audi TT, when it comes to both boot and rear-seat space.

  • The Mustang’s reputation very much precedes it here. No one has ever associated V8 petrol engines with good fuel economy and so it proves. The absolute best you’re going to see from the Mustang is about 25mpg – and that’s if you go for the 10-speed automatic gearbox.

Choose the more traditional 6-speed manual, drive with a bit of verve and you’ll be lucky to see mid-teens economy figures.

Ford Mustang Models Available

Mustang Fastback

The classic 2-door Mustang coupe shape. It looks the part, with enough retro cues to get you smiling, yet enough of a contemporary feel that it doesn’t seem like pastiche of the original.

Mustang Convertible

If you’re really addicted to that V8 exhaust note, you’ll want to get the drop-top convertible version in order to enjoy the sound even more. Few cars are better suited to cruising around on a warm, sunny evening.

High Performance Models

With every variant sporting a solid V8 engine, every Mustang is a high-performance model. But for the ultimate Mustang experience, you’re going to want to lease the Mustang Mach 1. It gets an extra 10 or so horsepower over the standard car, as well as a raft of tweaks to the brakes, suspension and other systems.

Ford Mustang Trim Levels

There isn’t a complex web of trim levels to wade through when leasing a Mustang – just the standard GT and the slightly more focused Mach 1. The regular car gets performance brakes, selectable drivingTrim levels available: GT, Mach 1

The Ford Mustang Vs Competitors

It could be argued that the Mustang has no direct rivals on the UK market, as it offers a unique driving experience distinct from that of other – more expensive – sports cars like the Porsche 718, the Audi TT and the Alpine A110.Fans would argue that it simply has great-value ‘horsepower-per-pound’ ratio and bags of character, amplified by the fact that it remains an unusual sight on the UK’s roads.
  • As the Ford Mustang isn’t leased by many UK motorists, it’s hard to build up a comprehensive picture of its long-term reliability. But its V8 engine is a tried-and-tested component, and it’s a relatively simple and straightforward car overall, so there aren’t a lot of complex systems to go wrong.

  • The Mustang has a 408-litre boot, which is a good capacity for a sports model. But it’s a bit tricky to access due to a high loading lip and fairly narrow, saloon-style opening.

  • Just GT and Mach 1. The former has most of the kit you’ll need, and the latter mainly adds upgrades designed to make the Mustang handle better on a racetrack.

  • The Mustang comes with a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors, which is very helpful when reversing into a tight space, as visibility through the car’s narrow windows isn’t the best.

  • Adults won’t be comfortable in the back of the Mustang, as there’s just not enough legroom, so it’s best to think of it as a 2-seater and drop the rear seats flat to free up a bit more luggage space.

  • If you’re looking for the best possible price on your Ford Mustang lease deal, then Vanarama can help. We offer a Price Promise guarantee, as well as access to the best experts, free delivery, optional extras and free 30-day returns.
