Hyundai i20 Lease Deals

The Hyundai i20 sits between the i10 city car and the i30 family car in Hyundai’s range of hatchbacks. It aims to bring Hyundai’s fresh and daring style to the supermini class – and it does so with great success.

With upgrades made to equipment, engine technology and overall quality, this latest-generation i20 is a worthy rival to historically popular European models like the Ford Fiesta, Peugeot 208, Renault Clio and Volkswagen Polo – making it a great leasing option if you’re looking for a stylish and efficient small car.

Mild-hybrid technology.

  • These days, even superminis can accommodate a small family. And that’s the case with the i20. Up front, even the tallest people will be able to get comfortable – and it’s a similar story in the back. The rear has more than enough space for children at least, and the small hump in the floor is subtle enough to not deter passengers from the middle seat.

Boot space is decent, at 352 litres. And rear seats can be folded in a 60/40 split for added versatility.

Despite being small, the i20 has good storage space inside. There are multiple pockets to hold bottles in the doors, as well as spaces in the centre console and armrest. The boot also has an adjustable floor for easier loading.

  • Being a small car, the costs for both leasing and running the i20 should be low. With the exception of the high-performance N, all models use mild-hybrid engine technology. Simply put, this means it runs on electric power when decelerating or sitting at a stop. It’s not as efficient as a fully blown hybrid, but it does help to save fuel.

Drivers have a choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearboxes, and the official fuel economy for all core i20 models with a manual gearbox is up to 65.7mpg. The automatics are equally efficient.

There’s just 1 body style for the i20, which is a 5-door hatchback.

High Performance Models

The i20 N Line has sporty styling but the dedicated performance version is the i20 N – a great option for those wanting to lease a hot hatchback. With its 204hp, it can get to 62mph in 6.2 seconds.

The Hyundai i20 Vs Competitors

The i20 has been so thoroughly updated that in terms of looks, quality and space, it now matches the best small cars in the class. Its most direct rivals are the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo. Like the Hyundai, the Fiesta offers mild-hybrid technology.

But there’s also the Renault Clio, which can be leased with a full hybrid engine. The Honda Jazz is exclusively available as a hybrid, as are the Suzuki Swift and Toyota Yaris.

The Peugeot 208 and Vauxhall Corsa have the widest choice of engine options in the small-car class, with drivers able to choose from petrol, diesel and all-electric models. The Citroen C3 offers very individual styling with an emphasis on comfort, while the Skoda Fabia shares much with the Polo but will be cheaper to lease.

The Audi A1 also takes the Polo recipe but adds even classier ingredients. The Kia Rio shares much with the i20, while the MINI hatchback is the best small car to lease if you prioritise driving fun above all else.

  • The current i20 was launched in late 2020 – so it’s very up-to-date. If you want a strikingly styled, efficient small car that’s good to drive, the i20 will fit the bill.

  • Hyundai finished in 6th place out of 31 in the 2020 What Car? Reliability Survey – and all Hyundai models come with a 5-year, unlimited-mileage warranty as standard.

  • Drivers looking to lease an i20 can choose between 5 core trims. SE Connect models prop up the range, while Premium versions offer more equipment and technology. Drivers looking for sporty looks can choose the N Line, while Ultimate models are the most luxurious i20s.

The i20 N is the high-performance model, and a standalone derivative in terms of specification and drivetrain.

  • The N is the ‘GTI’ of the i20 range with powerful acceleration, sharper handling and a more feisty personality than the standard models. The N Line offers similar looks but has the same, less powerful engine as all other models in the i20 line-up.

  • The Hyundai i20 has 352 litres of boot space with the rear seats upright. Fold them down and that increases to 1,165 litres. That’s almost identical to the Volkswagen Polo and much more than the Ford Fiesta can provide.

  • Yes, every i20 comes with rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera as standard.

  • Vanarama lease deals are tailored to your budget, through variable lease length, initial payment and annual mileage, and other factors. Whether opting for a personal or business lease deal, you pay a fixed monthly payment throughout your lease agreement with us.

At the agreement end, simply hand the car back to us without anything extra to pay – providing you’re within the agreed mileage and fair wear and tear. At this point, you are free to walk away or upgrade to a brand-new car with us.
