The third round draw for the Emirates FA Cup has taken place, and we're pleased to see six teams from the National league are involved – some playing for a spot in the third round, some secure and stealing themselves for the battles ahead.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard (Stevey G) and former Arsenal striker Ian Wright (Wright, Wright!) did the honours of drawing the matches as Premiership and National League clubs alike joined the competition.
The matches we'll be looking forward to will be played over the weekend of the 6th-9th January 2017 and are fleshed out below.
Ipswich vs Lincoln City – 7th January 2017
After a dramatic 3-2 win over Oldham on the 5th December 2016, Lincoln City will play Ipswich in Ipswich on the 7th January 2017.
Barrow FC vs Rochdale – 7th January 2017
A 2-1 win over League One's Bristol Rovers saw Barrow AFC secure a match against Rochdale. Barrow's striker Byron Harrison said he'd have loved to draw a Premiership team, but I'm sure he'll probably be happy with a home match against Rochdale on the 7th January 2017.
Sutton United vs AFC Wimbledon – 7th January 2017
Sutton United has drawn a home game against AFC Wimbledon, also taking place on the 7th January 2017, after a tense 2-1 victory over Cheltenham.
Rotherham vs TBD (Macclesfield Town / Oxford United) – 7th January 2017
Macclesfield Town is playing for a place in the third round following a 0-0 draw against Oxford United on the 2nd December 2016. The second round replay takes place on the 13th December 2016, and the winner will go through to the third round against Rotherham – who will play on home turf.
Brentford vs TBD (FC Halifax Town / Eastleigh) – 7th January 2017
Last, but by no means least, all eyes are on the National League clash between FC Halifax Town and Eastleigh taking place on the 13th December 2016 at Eastleigh – the winner will welcome Brentford to their home field on the 7th December 2016.
